Abstract:
The present invention relates to a washing machine and dryer with an improved duct structure. A cabinet (100) form a an outer shell of the washing machine and dryer, and a tub (200) is installed within the cabinet (100). A drum (250) is rotatably installed within the tub (200). Since a drying duct (300) is installed in an upper portion of the tub (200) that is eccentric toward one side when viewed from the front of the tub (200), an internal space utilization of the cabinet (100) is enhanced and the equipment can be compact. The drying duct (300) is manufactured with two bodies that are a lower part (310) and an upper part (320) formed by extending a discharge part (330) from one end portion of the drying duct (300), so that the number of parts and the number of assemble processes are reduced and the productivity is improved. Since the discharge part (330) and the lower part (310) are formed in one body, it can prevent the damage and the air leakage, caused in a connection portion due to vibration, and the flowing noise caused by them. The discharge part (330) is extended to be slant in a rotation direction of the drum (250) and a guidance part is extended in a tangential direction with respect to a rotation direction of the drum (250) at one end portion of the discharge part (330), thus smoothly supplying air to the drum (250). A condensation duct (400) has one end connected to the drying duct (300) and the other end connected to an inside of the tub (200). A heater (800) is installed within the drying duct (300) and a circulation fan (350) is installed in the other end of the drying duct (300) to which the condensation duct is connected.

Provided is an apparatus for motion estimation of video data. The apparatus includes a sum of absolute difference (SAD) calculating unit which receives video data and calculates an SAD for each frame of the video data, a motion vector calculating unit which divides each frame of the video data into macroblocks or sub-macroblocks having a predetermined size and calculates a motion vector estimation value using motion vectors or prediction vectors of macroblocks or sub-macroblocks adjacent to each macroblock or sub-macroblock, and a motion updating unit which performs motion estimation on the video data using an SAD calculated by the SAD calculating unit for the macroblocks or the sub-macroblocks adjacent to each macroblock or sub-macroblock having the predetermined size and the motion vector estimation value of the motion vector calculating unit.

Provided is an apparatus and method for performing intra prediction for an image decoder, in which by use of horizontal/vertical blocks adjacent to image data input from an external device, the intra prediction is performed in parallel with respect to 16×16 luminance component and 4×4 luminance component of the image data and then with respect to chrominance component, thereby maximizing efficiency of system to not only reduce execution time and hardware cost but also increase processing speed.

A method for controlling a numerical aperture of a graded index plastic optical fiber through end rounding treatment of the GI POF. More particularly, the present invention discloses a method for controlling a numerical aperture of a GI POF by rounding the end of the GI POF into a convex or concave shape. According to the present invention, it is possible to increase an optical coupling efficiency of the GI POF thus reducing the volume of a whole system without using an additional optical system.

A drum type washing machine is disclosed. The drum type washing machine includes a tub for holding wash water; a bearing housing laid in a rear wall of the tub, the bearing housing having a fastening groove part having a stator of a motor fastened thereto; and a contact-proof-part for preventing the fastening groove part of the bearing housing and a stator fastening part from being directly contacted with each other. An object of the present invention is to provide a drum type washing machine which can reduce noise generated by collision between a fastening groove part of a bearing housing and a stator fastening part by means of an improved structure of a tub.
