    摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide a display device that can be manufactured more easily than the conventional one. To accomplish this object, an image control panel part (7) which is continuously provided with combination base units including optical transparency base units and optical no-transparency base units, and a lens film pail (6) which is continuously provided with repeating units of lenses (8) are laminated in a direction of light transmission, and either one width of the optical transparency base unit or a pitch of the repeating unit of the lens is set so as to be the integral multiplication of the other width. Since the moiré fringes can be prevented by setting either one width of the optical transparency base unit or the pitch of the repeating unit of the lens 8 so as to be the integral multiplication of the other width, it is not always necessary for the display device of the present invention to change a pitch of the mold for manufacturing the lens film part 6 randomly.

    摘要: The preferred embodiment discloses a new thin-film EL display panel drive circuit using EL layers installed between the scan-side electrodes and the data-side electrodes aligned so as to allow them to cross one another, comprising: scan-side electrodes connected to the drain terminal of the N-ch high-voltage resistant driver having a grounded source terminal and also connected to the other drain terminal of the P-ch high-voltage resistant driver having a source terminal connected to the pull-up charge drive circuit and to the write drive circuit via the scan-side common bus line; and data-side electrodes connected to the drain terminal of the N-ch high-voltage resistant driver having a grounded source terminal and also having the anode common terminal connected to the cathode terminal of the diode array connected to the preliminary charge drive circuit via the data-side common bus line. By grounding the source terminal to the scan-side N-ch MOS ICs, some of the floating-output logic-circuit driving power sources and some of the logic signal transmission photo-couplers can be eliminated. This not only saves component elements conventionally needed for the P-N symmetric EL display panel drive circuits, but also securely suppresses noise interference, thus offering an indispensable technique giving an early and overall improvement over those thin-film EL display drive circuits thus far made available.

    摘要: To obtain a half-tone display, the device disclosed employs a thin-film EL display panel and practices amplitude and pulse-width modulation wherein the amplitude and pulse-width of a pulse voltage applied to the thin-film EL display panel is varied according to video signals. In one preferred form thereof, a constant current amount or an enabling period of a constant current element provided within a discharge circuit is varied according to video signals, thereby controlling a pre-charge amplitude on the thin-film EL panel. The amount of discharging the pre-charge on the EL panel is under the control video signals. As a result, the brightness of the EL display panel corresponds to video signals.

    摘要: A thin-film electroluminescent display panel is sealed by a pair of glass substrates for protecting itself from the environment. A protective liquid is introduced between a counter glass substrate and a substrate for supporting the electroluminescent display panel. The protective liquid comprises silicon oil or grease which assures the thin-film electroluminescent panel of preservation of the electroluminescent display panel. The counter glass substrate is bonded to the substrate through an adhesive of, for example, photocuring resin. A capillary tube is provided within the substrate for injecting the liquid under vacuum conditions. The counter glass substrate can be plate-shaped thereby eliminating a spacer. The liquid has the ability of spreading into pin holes generated on dielectric layers, and is resistant to high voltage, high humidity and high temperature, and is inert to layers constituting the thin-film electroluminescent display panel and has a small vapor pressure and a small coefficient of thermal expansion.

    摘要: Disclosed is a photo-image memory panel composed of an electroluminescent element which exhibits electrical polarization effects upon light excitation. Under the conditions when the panel is biased by DC voltage or DC offset voltage, light irradiation is applied to the panel to establish a light-activated polarized electric field of which the intensity is controllable in dependence upon a photo-image desired to be written into the panel. Then, the photo-image written into the panel is held while maintaining the polarized electric field. Thereafter, application of a predetermined voltage pulse enables the reading out of the photo-image in the form of light emission. Alternatively, in case of an electroluminescent element of which the light emission versus applied voltage characteristics involve the hysteresis phenomenon, a train of alternating current pulses are employed as reading-out pulses to maintain light emission corresponding to the read-out image.

    摘要: An EL panel including an array of scan electrodes, an array of data electrodes crossing the scan electrodes and a plurality of pixels each lying sandwiched between a respective one of the scan electrodes and a respective one of data electrodes is driven by a circuit for applying sequentially a write pulse voltage to the scan electrodes in a line scanning fashion and a circuit for applying a refresh pulse voltage of a polarity opposite to that of the write pulse voltage throughout the panel upon completion of field scanning. The system further includes a circuit for applying throughout the display panel upon completion of field scanning a write compensation pulse of the same polarity as that of the refresh pulse voltage and an amplitude insufficient to cause electroluminescence, and a refresh compensation pulse of a polarity opposite to that of the refresh pulse and an amplitude not enough to cause electroluminescence. Preferably, the values of the write compensation pulse and the refresh compensation pulse depend on factors of an equivalent circuit of the EL panel.

    摘要: A thin-film EL display panel has a plurality of scanning side electrodes and a plurality of data side electrodes. The thin-film EL display panel is excited to emit light through a pre-charge mode, a discharge modulation mode and a write mode. A voltage lower than a modulation voltage is supplied from the data side electrodes to the thin-film EL display panel as a first pre-charge voltage. Thereafter, a difference voltage between the first pre-charge voltage and the modulation voltage is supplied from the scanning side electrodes to the panel as a second pre-charge voltage, thus reducing power consumption to a minimum during the pre-charge mode.
