    Abstract: This application provides a beam information obtaining method and an apparatus, relates to the field of communications technologies, and resolves a problem that resources of positioning reference signals are wasted because the positioning reference signals need to be omnidirectionally sent because of an unknown direction, of a terminal, caused by use of a beam, when the terminal is positioned in, e.g., a 5G system. The method in this application resolves the problem and saves overheads of sending a reference signal. The method includes: The terminal receives a beam information request sent by a location management device, where the beam information request is used to request the terminal to provide measurement information of a downlink beam. The terminal obtains beam information, where the beam information includes information about a reference signal that is sent by at least one network device and that is measured by the terminal.

    Abstract: This application provides a relative angle-based positioning method and an apparatus. In the method, a network device can flexibly select a reference direction, and support linear array-based angle positioning. The method includes: A network device participating in positioning exchanges an uplink positioning configuration with a positioning center, a terminal device, and a serving cell that participate in positioning. The network device participating in positioning receives a first reference signal sent by the terminal device. The network device participating in positioning determines angle measurement information based on the first reference signal. The network device participating in positioning reports the angle measurement information to the positioning center, where the angle measurement information includes a set reference direction and an angle of a direction of the terminal device relative to the set reference direction. The positioning center determines a location of the terminal device based on the received angle measurement information.

    Abstract: This application discloses an indoor-outdoor determining-based uplink transmission method and apparatus. A terminal device or a positioning device determines whether the terminal device is located indoors or outdoors. The terminal device or the positioning device sends a first message to an access network device, where the first message includes a first information element, and the first information element indicates whether the terminal device is located indoors or outdoors. The access network device determines an access parameter of the terminal device based on the first information element, where the access parameter includes an access frequency. According to the method disclosed in embodiments of this application, uplink transmission of the terminal device in a proper frequency band is implemented, and communication interference is reduced.
