Abstract: A wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) may receive a set of candidate resources, which may be used for transmission. The WTRU may periodically perform CCA on a channel (e.g., before transmitting on the channel). When the channel is determined to be free, the WTRU may determine a resource for transmission from the candidate resources. The resource may be determined based on the time remaining in the time period. For example, when the time remaining in the time period is shorter, the WTRU may determine to transmit on a resource that comprises more frequency resources. The WTRU may determine a Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) scheme based on the number of frequency resources. The WTRU may send a transmission on the resource, which may include a demodulation reference signal (DM-RS). The DM-RS may indicate the resource used from transmission to a receiver of the transmission.

Abstract: Methods, architectures, apparatuses and systems directed to active sensing in a wireless communications system (WCS) are provided. A method may include receiving, from a network element, information indicating an activation of a first of a plurality of sensing configurations, wherein the first sensing configuration and a second of a plurality of sensing configurations may include information indicating first and second resources of the WCS; transmitting a first sensing signal according to the first sensing configuration and using the first resources; performing first measurements related to the first sensing signal; transmitting, to the network element, information indicating a change from the first sensing configuration to the second configuration; receiving, from the network element, information indicating an acknowledgment of the change in the sensing configurations; transmitting a second sensing signal according to the second sensing configuration and using the second resources; and performing second measurements related to the second sensing signal.

Abstract: Procedures, methods, architectures, apparatuses, systems, devices, and computer program products are described that may be implemented in a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) for sidelink (SL) communication. In one representative method, the WTRU estimates a primary direction for a SL transmission. The first WTRU derives a paired direction associated with the primary direction. SL control information (SCI) sensing in the primary and paired directions may be performed to detect SL transmissions and/or reservations from other WTRUs. The WTRU may select a SL resource using any sensed SCI in the primary and paired directions. The WTRU may proceed to transmit SL control and data over the selected SL resource, such as in a SL slot. For example, the transmission of SL control information may include SCI transmission in the primary and paired directions in the same symbols of a slot.

Abstract: A method and WTRU to support an in-channel narrowband companion air interface (NB-CAI) assisted wideband (WB) frequency error correction procedure is disclosed. The method may comprise a WTRU sending, via the NB-CAI, a frequency convergence reference signal (FCRS) scheduling request to a network node and receiving, via the NB-CAI, a FCRS scheduling response from the network node. The method may comprise receiving, via a wideband air interface (WB-AI), periodic FCRSs from the network node based on the received FCRS scheduling response and sending, via the NB-CAI, a request to the network node to change a rate of FCRS transmissions. The FCRS scheduling request may comprise range information. The request to change a rate of FCRS transmissions may be based on a convergence indication. The request to change a rate of FCRS transmissions may comprise a configuration identification of a selected FCRS configuration from a set of FCRS configurations.

Abstract: A method to reserve a directional channel, such as in an unlicensed spectrum for instance, is disclosed. In an example embodiment, the method may be performed by a receiving node, such as a user equipment (UE) for instance. In such method, the receiving node may receive an enhanced directional transmit request message from a transmitting node and transmit an enhanced directional transmit confirmation message using one or more first beams, with at least one first beam being directed in a first direction towards the transmitting node. Further, the receiving node may transmit at least one additional enhanced directional transmit confirmation message using one or more second beams, with at least one second beam being directed in a second direction towards a potentially interfering node. In the method, the second direction is a different direction than the first direction.

The WTRU may receive respective measurement report(s) from respective target WTRU(s) (e.g., a target WTRU may receive a reference signal transmitted by the WTRU and send an associated measurement report). The WTRU may be configured to send the received target WTRU measurement(s) to the network entity. The WTRU may send each of the received measurements. The WTRU may send the received measurement(s) if condition(s) are satisfied. For example, if a first measurement associated with a first measurement report from a first target WTRU exceeds a first threshold, the WTRU may send the first measurement to the network entity.

Abstract: An Evanescent Cell (EC) refers to a WTRU-centric cell exploiting highly directional transmissions. An EC may comprise one or more beams from one or more BSs/gNBs/TRPs that may be operated by the same or different operators. An EC may be created utilizing knowledge of radio planning having detected the presence of one or more WTRU. A Beam-Group (BG) refers to a group of beams associated with an EC. All beams associated with an EC may be categorized into multiple BGs. Each BG may be made up of one or more beams from multiple BSs/gNBs/TRPs. Multiple BGs within an EC may be enabled to ease the burden of cell management. In one or more embodiments, there may be systems, procedures, and/or devices for EC/BG detection, deactivation, activation, selection, reselection, and augmentation. Abstract: Apparatus for paging for highly directional systems. A WTRU receives a default and/or a dynamic set of active SSBs which indicates the beams/SSBs is used to receive paging DCI, e.g. DCI scrambled with P-RNTI, over PDSCH. A WTRU utilizes the default and/or dynamic set of active SSBs in order to determine PDCCH monitoring occasions, PMOs, that are monitored in the WTRU's paging occasions, POs. A WTRU sends paging activating requests to activate a suitable SSB using associated UL signal/resources, if the suitable SSB fulfills a SSB criteria, if the activation duration has elapsed and if the monitoring duration has elapsed. A WTRU may send one or more paging activation requests to activate multiple SSBs, e.g., a field of view, FOV, around a suitable SSB. Said paging activation requests implements a minimal feedback-based paging procedure for paging in highly directional systems, to which the gNB replies with paging configuration for the suitable SSB.
