Abstract: A computer-implemented method, a computer program product, and an incremental learning system are provided for language learning and speech enhancement. The method includes transforming acoustic utterances uttered by an individual into textual representations thereof, by a voice-to-language processor configured to perform speech recognition. The method further includes accelerating speech development in the individual, by an incremental learning system that includes the voice-to-language processor and that processes the acoustic utterances using natural language processing and analytics to determine and incrementally provide new material to the individual for learning.

Abstract: A method is provided that includes receiving, by a firmware from an originating software, an asynchronous request for an instruction of an algorithm for compression of data. The firmware operates on a first processor and the originating software operates on a second processor. The firmware issues a synchronous request to the first processor to cause the processor to execute the instruction synchronously. It is determined, by the firmware, whether an interrupt is received from the first processor with respect to the first processor executing the instruction. The firmware retries the issuance of the synchronous request each time the interrupt is received until a retry threshold is reached.

Abstract: A processor requests that a data transformation operation be performed using another processor, in which the data transformation operation is performed asynchronously. A determination is made that the data transformation operation performed using the other processor has completed unsatisfactorily, and based on the unsatisfactory completion, status relating to performance of the data transformation operation is incomplete. The data transformation operation is then re-executed synchronously using the one processor, and the re-executing provides status information unavailable in performing the data transformation operation asynchronously.

Abstract: A computer system interacts with a user with a behavioral state. An activity performed by an entity with a behavioral state is determined. A virtual character corresponding to the entity and performing the determined activity of the entity is generated and displayed. A mental state of the entity responsive to the virtual character is detected. In response to detection of a positive mental state of the entity, one or more natural language terms are provided to the entity corresponding to the activity performed by the virtual character. Embodiments of the present invention further include a method and program product for interacting with a user with a behavioral state in substantially the same manner described above.

The method also includes generating, by the processor, a sleep duration measurement for the user based at last in part upon the IoT device data. The method also includes generating, by the processor, a sleep optimization plan for the user based at least in part upon the genetic data.
