    Abstract: Systems and methods for dynamic multitone simulation scenario planning. A method commences upon accessing a server in a circuit simulation environment to generate a multitone simulation signal to accurately simulate non-linear circuit characteristics. The tones of the multitone simulation signal are derived from a subset of possible tones based on certain properties. Some properties serve to eliminate harmonic and intermodulation products that conflict with the tones in the subset. The amplitude and phase for each tone is determined based on certain constraints. A multitone transient signal is generated from the selected tone subset and associated tone attributes to facilitate a circuit simulation. Characteristics of the multitone transient signal and/or simulation results from the circuit simulation can be analyzed to facilitate dynamically planning simulation scenarios that use multitone simulation signals.

    Abstract: An integrated optical modulator device. The device can include a driver module coupled to an optical modulator. The optical modulator is characterized by a raised cosine transfer function. This optical modulator can be coupled to a light source and a bias control module, which is configured to apply an off-quadrature bias to the optical modulator. This bias can be accomplished by applying an inverse of the modulator transfer function to the optical modulator in order to minimize a noise variance. This compression function can result in an optimized increased top eye opening for a signal associated with the optical modulator. Furthermore, the optical modulator can be coupled to an EDFA (Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier) that is coupled to a filter coupled an O/E (Optical-to-Electrical) receiver.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to telecommunication techniques and integrated circuit (IC) devices. More specifically, embodiments of the present invention provide an off-quadrature modulation system. Once an off-quadrature modulation position is determined, a ratio between DC power transfer amplitude and dither tone amplitude for a modulator is as a control loop target to stabilize off-quadrature modulation. DC power transfer amplitude is obtained by measuring and sampling the output of an optical modulator. Dither tone amplitude is obtained by measuring and sampling the modulator output and performing calculation using the optical modulator output values and corresponding dither tone values. There are other embodiments as well.

    Abstract: The present invention is directed to communication systems and techniques thereof. More specifically, embodiments of the present invention provide a calibration system for optical transmitter. The calibration system provides a predetermined set of operating parameters to the optical transmitter and measures the second harmonic value of the transmitter output. A calibrated set of parameters is determined by selecting operating parameters associated with the minimum second harmonic value. There are other embodiments as well.
