Abstract:
A time indicator label comprises a backing layer, an active layer and a barrier layer. Removal of said barrier layer activates said time indicator label.
Abstract:
A data stream may be processed using a computer system by receiving the data stream using a browser application, detecting a content type of data in the data stream, temporarily overriding a default rendering process otherwise associated with the content type detected for the data in the data stream by associating a particular rendering process with the data stream based on the type of data in the data stream, and routing the data stream to the particular rendering process. The default rendering process may be identified in a registry of the computer system. It may be temporarily overridden by discriminating among internal and external instances of the browser application used to receive the data stream, and temporarily overriding the default rendering process only if the browser application is an internal instance.
Abstract:
A light-weight, heat distortion resistant laminate includes at least one layer of an alkali silicate resin composition derived from an alkali silicate and/or alkali silicate precursor, at least one oxoanionic compound or a reactive acidic glass; and water; and at least one reinforcing core layer comprising an inorganic high-temperature resistant composition. The laminate has a very low quench steepness index value upon rapid quenching as with ambient temperature water.
Abstract:
A system to remove most or substantially all of the residual ink from an ink chamber prior to post print washing, said ink chamber comprising an ink chamber profile provided with a space for ink, at least one inlet and at least one outlet, and with upper and lower doctor blade members detachably mounted on the ink chamber profile, said blades bounding an opening which, in operation, faces and engages with the outer circumference of an engraved cylinder and which extends over the length of the ink chamber profile, the ink chamber profile being sealed at its extremities by flexible seals, said ink chamber profile, end seals, doctor blades and engraved cylinder demarcating an ink cavity, characterised in that there is further provided a shuttle member within the ink cavity, said shuttle member being movable substantially along the entire length of the ink chamber profile in order to aid purging of residual ink from said ink cavity, said shuttle member further being provided with associated drive means to induce movement within said ink cavity.
Abstract:
A system and method using low-bandwidth to deliver key data from preexisting emergency response data programs to remote computer facilities using a variety of communications capabilities is provided. Key displays are re-created with enhanced information content and for distribution to a broad user audience via the Internet. Displays are updated every few seconds to remain synchronized with the on-site emergency response data program computer's current status.
Abstract:
The present invention provides reagents, compounds, compositions, and methods relating to novel interactions of the extracellular domain of LRP5, HBM (a variant of LRP5), and/or LRP6 with Dkk, including Dkk-1. The various nucleic acids, polypeptides, antibodies, assay methods, diagnostic methods, and methods of treatment of the present invention are related to and impact on Dkk, LRP5, LRP6, HBM, and Wnt signaling. Dkk, LRP5, LRP6, HBM, and Wnt are implicated in bone and lipid cellular signaling. Thus, the present invention provides reagents and methods for modulating lipid levels and/or bone mass and is useful in the treatment and diagnosis of abnormal lipid levels and bone mass disorders, such as osteoporosis.
Abstract:
An aqueous dispersion comprises: (A) water; (B) a polymeric material of a type which includes: (a) phenyl moieties; (b) carbonyl and/or sulphone moieties; and (c) ether and/or thioether moieties; (C) a surface active agent which includes a carbonyl or sulphone moiety and a hydrophilic group. Preferred embodiments relate to polyketones in combination with surfactants which are alkyl sulphosuccinates.
Abstract:
The invention discloses compositions, compounds, apparatuses and methods of using them to study bone mineralization and identify agents that regulate bone mineralization. Methods of using bone mineralization gene profiles and signatures for compound screening and research are also disclosed. Reagents for modulating bone mineralization are provided for both therapeutic and research usage.
Abstract:
A point of purchase display and product holding carriage having an essentially horizontal portion attachable to a point of purchase counter and a vertical product or carriage portion extending approximately ninety (90) degrees from the horizontal portion and projecting downwardly and in front of the counter or display stand. The vertical product carrying carriage has a plurality of pockets for holding the product. The horizontal portion which attaches to and is secured to a counter top or point of purchase display stand has a channel or opening for receiving interchangeable placards which contains point of purchase graphics which can be seen since the unit is made of clear plastic. A rear panel of the vertically extending portion or carriage which carries and displays product also has graphic material which can be seen from the front of the product carrier since it is also of clear plastic.
Abstract:
A code module is loaded in-process or out-of-process depending on metadata. The code module implements a service and the metadata is associated with the service. The metadata also indicates whether the code module is to be loaded in-process or out-of-process. A request for a service object provided by the service is received from a service requestor. The metadata is examined to determine whether the code module is to be loaded in-process or out-of-process and, when the metadata indicates the code module is to be loaded in-process, the code module is loaded into the process of the service requester. When the metadata indicates the code module is to be loaded out-of-process, the code module is loaded into a host process separate from the process of the service requester. The requested service object is instantiated using the loaded code module and the service requestor is enabled to access the instantiated service object.
