摘要: A cardiac function variation evaluation apparatus includes: a continuous flow type auxiliary artificial heart 20 connected to a ventricle (10A); a pressure sensor 30 for detecting ventricle (10A) internal pressure; and means (a personal computer 40) for evaluating contractile variation of the ventricle, to which the auxiliary artificial heart 20 is connected, based on internal area APMp of a closed-loop of a relationship between the ventricle internal pressure detected by the pressure sensor 30 and a consumption power of the auxiliary artificial heart 20. Thus, the contractile variation of the ventricle, to which an auxiliary artificial heart is connected, can be continuously evaluated not by use of an ultrasonic echo apparatus or a conductance catheter but by use of a non-invasive method.

摘要: An endovascular graft prosthesis for arrangement at or in the vicinity of a bifurcation in the arterial system of a patient, e.g. for the purpose of repairing an aneurysm or the aortic bifurcation comprises a substantially tubular main body for location in the principal upstream arteria above the bifurcation such as th aorta and substantially tubular legs joining said main body in a bifurcation and extending into each of two branch arteries such as the iliac arteries. The main body (8) is substantially bag-shaped with an open proximal upstream end and a distal downstream bottom region in which two outlet openings (9, 10) are provided and is attachable to the inner side of the principal arteria (2) by means of an expandable stent device (11). The legs are made as separate expandable leg stent devices (15, 16) which may be introduced in a collapsed condition through the branch arteries and into the outlet openings (9,10) of the main body by means of guide wires (13,14) to engage against the rim of the corresponding outlet opening to provide a leakage-free bifurcated graft prosthesis.

摘要: An exchanger device for transferring mass and/or energy between a first medium and a second medium includes a chamber having a first inlet and first outlet of the first medium and through which the first medium can flow. The chamber is equipped with at least one, preferably a plurality, of one mass- and/or energy-permeable exchanger hollow fibers connected at one end to a second inlet and at the other end to a second outlet of the second medium. The second medium can flow through the fiber(s) and the first medium can flow around the fiber(s). The chamber is equipped with at least one pump element for displacing the first medium in and out of the chamber in a pulsing manner. The pump element has an elastically deformable element, is connected to a third inlet of a third medium used as a driving medium, and is expandable by the third medium.

摘要: The invention relates to an electrical linear drive, in particular for a pump system of an artificial heart, with a movable part and a stationary part, wherein the stationary part is formed by a permanent magnet arrangement and the movable part is formed by a coil arrangement, or vice versa, and wherein the coil arrangement and the permanent magnet arrangement can be moved to and fro relative to each other in an axial direction by means of current passed through the coil arrangement, wherein the coil arrangement (1) is arranged in an axially extending air gap (5) of the permanent magnet arrangement (2) whose magnetic material is magnetized in the axial direction and which, at least at its two axial ends, has inner and outer pole shoes (6a, 6b) which lie radially opposite each other and are spaced apart by the air gap (5), as a result of which the magnetic field in the air gap (5) is concentrated in the radial direction in the area of the mutually facing pole shoes (6a, 6b), as a result of which at least one magnetic circuit is formed in which the magnetic field lines extend radially through the air gap (5) from the inside outwards and also through said air gap (5) from the outside inwards. The invention further relates to an electrical linear drive of this kind in which the permanent magnet arrangement (2) is designed as a stack of frame-shaped, in particular ring-shaped magnets (2a, 2b, 2c), which are magnetized alternately radially and axially in the axial direction, such that the magnetic field is strengthened on one side of the frame or in particular ring, in particular on the radially outer side, and is weakened on the other side of the frame or in particular ring, in particular on the radially inward side, and the coil arrangement (1) is arranged coaxially with respect to the permanent magnet arrangement (2) on the side with the strengthened magnetic field.

摘要: Thrombi are fragmented by a rotating action body secured on a torsion-resistant flexible shaft. The shaft is journalled in two parts of an internal catheter between which the action body is located. A grid surrounding the action body is formed by curved biassed resilient legs which connect the two parts of the internal catheter together.
