Abstract: Methods and devices are provided for anchoring suture to bone. In one exemplary embodiment, a cannulated suture anchor is provided and it includes a suture-engaging member formed therein and configured to receive a suture therearound such that trailing ends of the suture can extend through the suture anchor. The present invention also provides exemplary sutures and drivers that can be used with the various methods and devices disclosed herein, or with other methods and devices known in the art.

Abstract: An inserter for inserting a suture anchor into bone. The inserter has external markings that uniquely identify the orientations and the relative longitudinal positions of at least two suture passages through a suture anchor releasably engaged with the inserter. The markings assist a surgeon in determining a preferred placement and orientation of the anchor at an operative site during a surgical procedure.

Abstract: A banana-shaped cage adapted for use as an intervertebral fusion cage, wherein the leading direction of the nose of the banana cage is substantially in-line with the angle of the inserter shaft that inserts the cage into the disc space. It has been found that insertion of this cage requires lower insertion forces than the conventional cage whose leading direction substantially follows the arc of the banana curve.

Abstract: An angled fixation device, such as an angled screw. This angled fixation device may be used by the surgeon to secure a spacer to a spinal disc space. The proximal end portion of the angled fixation device is driven perpendicular to the anterior wall of the spacer, and so is parallel to the vertebral endplates and in-line with the inserter. The distal end portion of the angled fixation device is oriented at about a 45 degree angle (plus or minus 30 degrees) to the vertebral endplate it enters.

Abstract: Automated test equipment is provided that performs quantitive tests and operational checks on respiratory protective devices including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). The testing device is comprised of a bench-top instrument cabinet containing electronic, electro-mechanical, and pneumatic components, a test head with the likeness of human form attached on top of the instrument cabinet, a detachable computer keyboard, and a pneumatic manifold and hose assembly. With the present invention, a layman operator can determine the readiness of the SCBA equipment for service. The present invention can also be used as a diagnostic tool during maintenance procedures.
