    摘要: In a distributed file system, when a user requests a computer to create a distributed file, a management computer acquires a list of computers complying with an allocation rule selected by the user from allocation rules taking the performance, security level, reliability level and utility rate into consideration. When the user requests the computer to access the distributed file, on the other hand, the partial files and the server information are collected from each computer. Each computer evaluates the allocation of the partial files based on the selected allocation rule and the server information from each computer, and if required, selects a destination computer and instructs the partial files to be moved to the destination computer.

    摘要: The object of the present invention is to maintain redundancy of file without using a centralized controller in a system where a plurality of file servers are connected with each other via a network. Each domain ND within a file storage system 10 includes a file server FS, a monitoring server WS, and a client CL, which are connected with each other via a LAN. When the file server FS detects a failure having occurred in another file server FS included in the system, it considers that redundancy of a file stored in the failed file server FS has decreased, and then determines whether or not it is responsible for recovering the redundancy. If the file server FS has determined that it is responsible for recovering the redundancy, it selects a file server FS as a file copy source and a file server FS as a file copy destination, and then copies based on the selection the identical file from the copy source server to the copy destination server.

    摘要: An optical disk apparatus is downsized. The optical disk apparatus comprises an optical disk drive mechanism having a rotating mechanism for rotating an optical disk and an optical head for optically reading data on the optical disk, and a circuit board. An analog circuit and a digital circuit are mounted upon a single surface on one side of the circuit board of the optical disk drive mechanism. This analog circuit includes a drive circuit for driving the optical head, and a read circuit for creating read data from detection signals of the optical head. The digital circuit includes a one chip LSI circuit having a processor for executing the main control, a memory connected to an internal address/data bus and used for processing of the processor, a logic circuit connected to the internal address/data bus for creating a timing gate for transmitting and receiving the data to and from the optical head, and a controller connected to the internal address/data bus and for performing interface control with a host apparatus.
