In the device and the method, a conditional expression of 0.6≦R/R0≦0.9 is satisfied, where, R is a dot radius of a second ink jetted on a first ink which is jetted on the recording medium and semi-cured by a beam applied, and R0 is a dot radius of the second ink directly jetted on the recording medium.

The adapter further includes: communication means capable of performing direct communication with the mobile telephone by being carried with the mobile telephone; and operation information generating means for generating operation information in accordance with portable communication terminal information acquired from the mobile telephone. Under the circumstances where a user carries the mobile telephone, it is possible to provide a wireless operating system in which various operated targets and the mobile telephone are wirelessly operated.

The control device modifies the parameter thereof in accordance with the modification command received from the service providing server. Further, the service providing server records a history of the modification command having been transmitted on a user-by-user basis, and settles an account of the user every predetermined period of time, by requesting the user to pay a fee for the modification. Thus, a service provider is able to charge the user for modifying various parameters defining performance of the control device.

In case of B light including ultraviolet light in part, the optical compensation element is disposed at the subsequent stage of the liquid crystal light valve, so that as compared with when the optical compensation element is disposed at the preceding stage of the liquid crystal light valve, the optical compensation element can be reduced or prevented from deteriorating with age, thus enabling the contrast of image display to be maintained over a long period of time.
