摘要： A vertically alignment mode liquid crystal display device having an improved viewing angle characteristic is disclosed. The disclosed liquid crystal display device uses a liquid crystal having a negative anisotropic dielectric constant, and orientations of the liquid crystal are vertical to substrates when no voltage being applied, almost horizontal when a predetermined voltage is applied, and oblique when an intermediate voltage is applied. At least one of the substrates includes a structure as domain regulating means, and inclined surfaces of the structure operate as a trigger to regulate azimuths of the oblique orientations of the liquid crystal when the intermediate voltage is applied.

摘要： A semi-transparent-type liquid crystal display device comprises a liquid crystal panel including a first substrate, a second substrate disposed behind the first substrate, and a liquid crystal layer confined between the first and second substrates, the liquid crystal panel being formed with picture element regions each having a filter of any of red, green and blue color, a backlight source disposed behind the liquid crystal panel, and a reflection member disposed further behind the backlight source, each of the plurality of picture element regions including therein a reflection region and a transmission region, wherein, in each of the picture element regions, the color filter is provided with an opening in correspondence to the reflection region, the opening provided in the filter of the green color having the largest area and having an area ratio of 50% or larger but equal to or smaller than 100% with respect to the reflection region.

摘要： A liquid crystal display including a first substrate including a gate bus line, a data bus line intersecting the gate bus line, a thin film transistor formed near an intersection between the gate bus line and the data bus line, and a pixel electrode including a transmission electrode electrically connected to the thin film transistor and a reflection electrode electrically connected to the transmission electrode, a second substrate opposed to the first substrate and including an opposed electrode opposed to the pixel electrode, and a liquid crystal layer sealed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The transmission electrode includes a plurality of electrode units interconnected to each other by an interconnection pattern, and the reflection electrode is formed over the electrode unit with an insulation layer with convexities formed in the surface of the insulation layer.

摘要： A vertical alignment type liquid crystal display device including a plurality of pixels, which further includes a first substrate and a second substrate and a liquid crystal layer between the first substrate and the second substrate. The first substrate and the second substrate include alignment control structures which extend linearly, and when viewed in a direction vertical to the first substrate, in a pixel, the alignment control structure of the first substrate and the alignment control structures of the second substrate are arranged alternately. The alignment control structure of the first substrate includes first and second linear portions, and distances between the first and second linear portions and an adjacent alignment control structure of the second substrate are different from each other. Additionally, each of the first and second linear portions and the alignment control structures of the second substrate are arranged in parallel.

摘要： A vertically alignment mode liquid crystal display device having an improved viewing angle characteristic is disclosed. The disclosed liquid crystal display device uses a liquid crystal having a negative anisotropic dielectric constant, and orientations of the liquid crystal are vertical to substrates when no voltage being applied, almost horizontal when a predetermined voltage is applied, and oblique when an intermediate voltage is applied. At least one of the substrates includes a structure as domain regulating means, and inclined surfaces of the structure operate as a trigger to regulate azimuths of the oblique orientations of the liquid crystal when the intermediate voltage is applied.
