The method includes identifying a system bandwidth of a cell by comparing the system bandwidth with reception bandwidths of UEs within the cell, mapping two BCH information blocks including system information to a central band having a bandwidth equal to a transmission bandwidth of the BCH, additionally mapping at least one of the information blocks into each of one-half bands of the system bands, when the system bandwidth is two times an amount of the reception bandwidth, and transmitting a frequency domain signal, to which the information blocks are mapped, to the UEs located within the cell.

    摘要: A method is provided for transmitting a common channel in a cellular communication system that supports a scalable system bandwidth and uses multiple access technology. The transmission method includes determining a system bandwidth of a cell by comparing a reception bandwidth of User Equipments (UEs) located in the cell with the system bandwidth; mapping a first synchronous channel (SCH) sequence to a central band of a system band, which has a bandwidth which is greater than or equal to a minimum bandwidth required for detecting an SCH; if the system bandwidth is greater than twice the reception bandwidth, additionally mapping second SCH sequences to bands having the minimum bandwidth, each of which is spaced from the central band by a predetermined interval; and transmitting to the UEs located in the cell a signal in the frequency domain to which at least one of the first SCH sequence and the second SCH sequences is mapped.

    摘要: A method and an apparatus are disclosed for applying frequency layer convergence (FLC) to connected mode user equipments (UE) having no dedicated channel for a multimedia broadcast/multicast service (MBMS) service in a mobile communication system employing a Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) scheme. The method and apparatus prevent uplink signaling congestion which may occur when the UEs located in non preferred frequency layers (NPL) of the MBMS service move to a preferred frequency layers (PL) when a MBMS service session starts. If the MBMS service session starts in a situation of applying the FLC, a radio network controller (RNC) notifies the UEs desiring to receive the MBMS service and located in NPLs for the MBMS service of FLC information including a PF value and a timer value, with reference to the number of the NPL UEs joining the MBMS service. The UEs performs a PF test according to the PF and timer values, thereby maintaining the degree of congestion and signal transmission load at appropriate levels.

    摘要: A method and apparatus performs handover from an OFDM-based E-UMTS system to a CDMA-based UMTS system. A UE in communication with a PDN via the E-UMTS system, measures signal strength of the UMTS system, and sends a measurement report message indicating the measured signal strength to the E-UMTS system. A radio access network (E-RAN) of the E-UMTS system, determines whether to perform handover from the E-UMTS system to the UMTS system based on the measured signal strength. If the handover is to be performed, a core network (E-CN) of the E-UMTS system generates a PDP context and an MM context for the UE in response to a handover request from the E-RAN. The E-CN sets up a data tunnel for the UE to a GGSN of the UMTS system using the PDP/MM context. After setting up the data tunnel, the E-CN sends to the UE a handover command message including information on a radio bearer (RB) to be used by the UE to access the UMTS system. The UE accesses the UMTS system using the RB information. After accessing the UMTS system, the UE forwards user data for the UE via a data transmission path composed of the E-CN, the data tunnel, a SGSN, and a RAN of the UMTS system, between the PDN and the UE.
