摘要: An optical demultiplexer comprises a clock regenerating circuit for regenerating a clock signal for each optical signal channel from an optical multiplexed signal. An optical switch separates each optical signal channel from the optical multiplexed signal in accordance with the clock signal regenerated by the clock regenerating circuit. An identification information extraction circuit extracts identification information contained in each optical signal channel separated by the optical switch. A control circuit changes output destinations so that each optical signal channel is output to a designated destination in accordance with the identification information extracted by the identification information extraction circuit. The identification information is appended as identification data to a data signal represented by the optical signal, and the identification information extraction circuit extracts the identification data contained in the data signal reconstructed from each optical signal channel. A signal switching circuit is provided between outputs of the optical switch and output destinations, wherein the control circuit changes output destinations by changing connection relationships in the signal switching circuit between the outputs of the optical switch and the output destinations, for example, by changing the phase of the clock signal supplied to the optical switch.

摘要: According to an aspect of an embodiment, a method of spectrum defragmentation in an optical network may include assigning an optical signal within an optical network to a first frequency slot that spans a first portion of an optical spectrum of the optical network. The method may also include constructing a frequency slot dependency map based on the assignation of the optical signal to the frequency slot. The method may also include reassigning, as a result of an optical signal departure event, the optical signal to a second frequency slot based on the frequency slot dependency map. The second frequency slot may span a second portion of the optical spectrum of the optical network.

摘要: A residual chromatic dispersion target value at a terminal node is set for each wavelength path, and also, candidates of a dispersion compensation amount settable in each chromatic dispersion compensation module on an optical network are set, and further, computation processing is executed for selecting the dispersion compensation amount in each chromatic dispersion compensation module from the candidates so that the sum of errors between the residual chromatic dispersion amounts and the set residual chromatic dispersion target values at the terminal nodes for all of wavelength paths becomes minimum. As a result, for each wavelength path on the optical network, the dispersion compensation amount in each chromatic dispersion compensation module can be designed in optimum so as to satisfy the desired optical signal quality at the terminal node, while considering the residual chromatic dispersion during the transmission.

摘要: In an optical transmission system, each of optical transmission devices for transmitting wavelength-multiplexed light measures a real dispersion quantity. On the basis the real dispersion quantity measured in a measurement step and design dispersion quantities of respective transmission spans, a management control section computes compensation quantities of the respective transmission spans. The management control section notifies the compensation quantities computed in a computation step to the respective optical transmission devices. On the basis of the notified compensation quantities, the respective optical transmission devices compensate for the dispersion quantities. Thereby, optimal dispersion compensating values using a bypass design are acquired individually for optical paths included in WDM light. Dispersion is automatically, dynamically compensated, thereby inhibiting deterioration of a signal.
