Abstract: Implementations of techniques of intra picture block copy in video compression are described. In one example implementation, a method may include: identifying a first block of pixels of a plurality of pixels of a picture as a reference block for reconstructing a second block of pixels of the plurality of pixels of the picture; determining an overlapped region of the second block that overlaps with the first block; and reconstructing pixels in the overlapped region based on a first set of pixels and a second set of pixels of the first block.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for coding a 360-degree VR image sequence are disclosed. According to one method, input data associated with a current image in the 360-degree VR image sequence are received and also a target reference picture associated with the current image is received. An alternative reference picture is then generated by extending pixels from spherical neighboring pixels of one or more boundaries related to the target reference picture. A list of reference pictures including the alternative reference picture is provided for encoding or decoding the current image. The process of extending the pixels may comprise directly copying one pixel region, padding the pixels with one rotated pixel region, padding pixels with one mirrored pixel region, or a combination thereof.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide an apparatus having an interface circuit, a processing circuit and a display device. The interface circuit is configured to receive media presentation description information of media data. The media data includes video content on a two-dimensional (2D) plane that is projected from video content of a sphere surface according to a projection. The video content on the 2D plane includes a plurality of segment streams having different coverages of the video content on the 2D plane. The media presentation description information uses projection based spatial relationship description (P-SRD) to describe the different coverages of the video content on the 2D plane according to the projection. The processing circuit is configured to determine one or more segment streams based on a region of interests for image generation and the P-SRD, select segments in the one or more segment streams, and cause the interface circuit to request and receive the selected segments.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for a coding system using palette mode coding for colour video are disclosed. Abstract: A method and device for switching Representations are disclosed. On the server side, leading-picture information associated with leading pictures in an open GOP (group of picture) is signalled in a media presentation description. Each leading picture corresponds to one picture preceding a RAP (Random Access Picture) picture in a segment in an output order and being coded depending on the RAP picture. At the client side, an original Representation and a target representation are received and the leading-picture information for the target Representation is determined from the media presentation description received. A switched presentation is presented, where the switched presentation switches from the original Representation to the target Representation by switching presentation from pictures in the original Representation to pictures in the target Representation at a stream access point (SAP) corresponding to the RAP picture in one segment of the target representation determined according to the leading picture information.
