    Abstract: An antenna device includes an RFIC element, a power supply coil connected to the RFIC element, and a first coil conductor including a first large-diameter loop shaped conductor and a first small-diameter loop shaped conductor. The first coil conductor functions as a booster antenna and forms an antenna resonance circuit. The power supply coil is accommodated in a recess surrounded by the first small-diameter loop shaped conductor. The power supply coil is disposed in a manner that its winding direction is aligned with the winding axis direction of the first small-diameter loop shaped conductor and its outer diameter is inside a coil opening of the first small-diameter loop shaped conductor in a planar view. The power supply coil is coupled to the first small-diameter loop shaped conductor through a magnetic field.

    Abstract: A wireless IC tag-attached metal medical instrument includes a metal medical instrument including a metal portion. The metal medical instrument is configured such that electric, magnetic, or electromagnetic field coupling is established between a resonant circuit and the metal portion when a wireless IC tag is fixed to the metal portion that includes the resonant circuit having an inductor with a spiral or helix shape that turns around a central axis more than one turn. In this configuration, the metal portion either emits a transmission signal with a frequency equal to a resonant frequency of an electromagnetic wave supplied from the resonant circuit or receives a reception signal having a frequency equal to the resonant frequency, and supplies the reception signal to the resonant circuit.

    Abstract: A wireless IC tag-attached metal medical instrument is provide that includes a metal medical instrument with a metal portion having a recess. The metal medical instrument is configured such that electric field coupling, magnetic field coupling, or electromagnetic field coupling is established between a resonant circuit and the metal portion of the metal medical instrument. The metal portion is configured to emit a transmission signal or receive a reception signal when a wireless IC tag is fixed to the metal portion such that at least a part of the wireless IC tag is positioned closer to a bottom of the recess than an opening of the recess.

    Abstract: A UHF band RFID tag with stable communication characteristics when attached to a metal surface. The UHF band RFID tag includes a resin block having a first surface serving as an attaching surface to the metal surface and a second surface opposing the first surface, a substrate on a second surface side of the resin block, a RFIC element mounted on the substrate, and a loop electrode connected to the RFIC element. The loop electrode includes metal bodies provided in the resin block and extending in a direction intersecting the first and second surfaces, a flat plate electrode on a first surface side of the resin block and connecting first ends of the metal bodies, conductor patterns on the second surface side of the resin block and connecting the RFIC element and second ends of metal bodies.

    Abstract: A wireless IC device includes a resin member including first and second surfaces, a substrate including first and second principal surfaces, a coil antenna provided in the resin member, and an RFIC element mounted on the substrate and connected to the coil antenna. The substrate is embedded in the resin member so that the second principal surface is at a second surface side. The coil antenna is defined by first linear conductor patterns on the second surface, first metal posts extending between the first and second surfaces, second metal posts extending between the first and second surfaces, and second linear conductor patterns on the first surface. The RFIC element is disposed in the coil antenna.

    Abstract: A coupling assistance device is provided with a base material having a first principal surface, and a planar antenna provided at the base material. Moreover, the first principal surface of the base material has a first region to which a coil antenna of a portable telephone terminal is to be adjacent, and a second region to which a coil antenna of an RFID tag-containing article is to be adjacent. The planar antenna is provided from the first region over to the second region of the base material, and is coupled to the antenna of the portable telephone terminal in the first region and to the antenna of the RFID tag-containing article in the second region.
