摘要： A die apparatus is composed of a lower receiving die, a round punch having the shape of a fine hole, and PET provided between the lower receiving die and the round punch. The round punch is passed through a work plate placed on the PET to cause a punched-out piece to remain within the PET, thereby boring the fine hole. The work plate having such fine holes is thus easily prepared, and applied as a filter for a liquid-jet head.

摘要： A metallic plate member having at least one through hole to be a part a common liquid reservoir of a liquid ejection head is provided. In a first die, a plurality of first projections are arrayed in a first direction with a fixed pitch. Each of the first projections is elongated in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The plate member is mounted on a second die, and a regulating member is inserted into the through hole. The first projections are pressed against a first region in a first face of the plate member which is adjacent to the through hole in the second direction, so as to generate a plastic flow of a material in the plate member into gaps defined between the first projections, while the plastic flow is regulated by the regulating member. A plurality of recesses formed by the first projections and a plurality of partition walls formed by the material flown into the gaps constitutes a part of the pressure generating chambers.

The cylindrical rod 20 includes therein (i) convex portions 16 each of which protrudes from the edge 12 and includes a sub-portion whose width is larger at a side thereof more distant from the edge 12 than at a side thereof less distant from the edge 12, and (ii) concave portions 18 which are formed on the edge 14, have a shape complementary to the shape of the convex portions 16, and are fitted into the convex portions 16. A cylindrical rod which has high circularity and high linearity, in other words, which hardly has vertical and horizontal curves can be provided.

摘要： A punching apparatus forms a hole at a bottom portion of each of recesses which are formed in a metal plate in advance and arrayed in a first direction. A female die supports the metal plate. A male die is opposed to the recess and provided with a punch array in which a plurality of punches in the first direction. The male die is movable in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction to form the hole with each of the punches. The punches include first punches each having a distal end face which is slant in the second direction. A slant angle of the distal end face corresponds to a warp of the plate member due to the formation of the recesses.

摘要： A male die for forming a member incorporated in a liquid ejection head is disclosed. Each of a plurality of first forging punches is operable to form a first recess on a metal plate. The first forging punches are arranged at a fixed pitch to form a punch row in a first direction. Each of a plurality of second forging punches is operable to form a second recess on the metal plate. The second forging punches are arranged adjacently to first forging punches located at both ends of the punch row.
