    摘要: A plasma display device and a driving method thereof are provided. The plasma display device has a panel having a plurality of discharge cells including a display electrode pair that is formed of a scan electrode and a sustain electrode, and a temperature detecting circuit for detecting the ambient temperature of the panel and outputting the detected temperature. In the driving method, an unusual charge erasing period when a rectangular waveform voltage is applied to the scan electrode is disposed between the initializing period and address period of at least one of a plurality of subfields, and the number of subfields having the unusual charge erasing period is controlled based on the detected temperature detected by the temperature detecting circuit.

    摘要: A system for simultaneously transmitting over the same voice circuit a voice signal and input information other than the voice. First and second sine-wave signals which do not bear any harmonic relation to each other in the band of the voice circuit are simultaneously frequency modulated by the input information, and the modulated outputs are superimposed on the voice signal and transmitted. On the receiving side, the pitch frequency of the voice signal is extracted from the received signal, and the pitch frequency and its integral multiples are removed from the received signal to remove a voice component. At this time, at least one of the first and second sine-wave signals is detected. One of these detected outputs is made to have the same frequency as the other frequency. The converted frequency and the detected frequency are demodulated to obtain the original input information.

    摘要: A speech signal fundamental period extractor which receives a residual value signal from a speech analyzer, such as one using autocorrelators. The residual value signal is first passed through a filter to remove the high-frequency components. Then the signal is quantized to obtain low-bit quantization of the residual value. The output from the quantizer is then sent to an autocorrelator to obtain the correlation coefficient and the fundamental period is extracted by selecting the position of a maximum correlation coefficient. This provides more accurate results and permits the use of low-speed elements and a reduction of components.

A plasma display device has a plasma display panel and a scan electrode driving circuit. The plasma display panel includes a discharge cell having a display electrode pair that is formed of a scan electrode and a sustain electrode. A plurality of subfields having an initializing period, an address period, and a sustain period are disposed in one field period. The scan electrode driving circuit generates an increasing first ramp voltage in the initializing period of at least one subfield in one field period, generates sustain pulse voltage that varies from a base potential to a potential for causing sustain discharge in the sustain period, and generates second ramp voltage that is increased and is dropped immediately after reaching a predetermined potential at the end of the sustain period.

In the method, a drive waveform voltage applied to the one electrode includes a last drive waveform voltage in the sustain period and a predetermined number of the second sustain pulses continuously disposed immediately before the last drive waveform voltage.
