Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium at a transmitting user equipment (UE) in a distributed cellular vehicle-to-everything environment are disclosed to determine a schedule for transmissions on subchannels of multiple frequencies based on a set of UE-specific, dynamic, and performance related metrics or criteria. The metrics may include an estimated number of users on a subchannel, a best-bandwidth fit, channel loading conditions, transmission range, and quality requirements of an application, among others. Such a schedule for transmissions on subchannels of multiple frequencies may result in either an improved capacity utilization, an improved communication quality, or both.

Abstract: Device-to-device operations are scheduled based on receive and transmit pools that may have a conflict in time domain. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus for resolving time domain conflict in device-to-device communication are provided. The apparatus may compute a first block rate metric for a first device-to-device communication on a first frequency and a second block rate metric for a second device-to-device communication on a second frequency. The apparatus may detect a time-domain conflict between the first device-to-device communication on the first frequency and the second device-to-device communication on the second frequency. The apparatus may prioritize the first device-to-device communication on the first frequency and the second device-to-device communication on the second frequency based on the first block rate metric and the second block rate metric.

Abstract: Aspects relate to techniques for efficient sidelink resource reservation based on the congestion on a sidelink. A wireless communication device may transmit control information indicating a number of resources reserved for an initial transmission and at least one retransmission of a packet. In some examples, the number of resources included in the control information can be either three resources or two resources based on the congestion. For example, the number of resources included in the control information can be three resources in response to a congestion value representing the congestion on the sidelink being less than a threshold. In addition, the number of resources included in the control information can be two resources in response to the congestion value being greater than or equal to the threshold.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for sidelink communications. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes monitoring a latency between a packet arrival time from an upper layer at the UE and an over-the-air (OTA) packet transmission time. The latency is based at least in part on, a first number of subframes reserved for a sidelink synchronization signal (SLSS) and/or a second number of subframes reserved based on a configured subframe bitmap. The method includes triggering a transmit resource selection at the UE when the latency exceeds a threshold latency.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may detect that a first subscription, of a plurality of subscriptions associated with the UE, is associated with an active service on a first cellular network. The UE may search, for a second subscription of the plurality of subscriptions, for radio access technologies (RATs) and frequency bands that are compatible with a dual active mode of the UE. In some aspects, the UE may detect that the active service on the first cellular network has ended. Accordingly, the UE may search, for the second subscription, for RATs and frequency bands that are compatible with the dual active mode of the UE and for RATs and frequency bands that are incompatible with the dual active mode, before expiry of a timer associated with a power saving state.
