Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may detect, while operating in an out-of-service (OOS) mode associated with a first network, that a second network satisfies one or more switching criteria. The UE may increase a time duration associated with a periodic network acquisition scan associated with the first network based at least in part on detecting that the second network satisfies the one or more switching criteria. The UE may switch, while operating in the OOS mode, from using the first network for connectivity to using the second network for connectivity based at least in part on detecting that the second network satisfies the one or more switching criteria. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may detect that a first subscription, of a plurality of subscriptions associated with the UE, is associated with an active service on a first cellular network. The UE may search, for a second subscription of the plurality of subscriptions, for radio access technologies (RATs) and frequency bands that are compatible with a dual active mode of the UE. In some aspects, the UE may detect that the active service on the first cellular network has ended. Accordingly, the UE may search, for the second subscription, for RATs and frequency bands that are compatible with the dual active mode of the UE and for RATs and frequency bands that are incompatible with the dual active mode, before expiry of a timer associated with a power saving state. Numerous other aspects are described.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may disconnect from a first radio access technology (RAT) service, independent of signaling from the first RAT service, after sensing that the UE has entered a coverage hole. The UE may use a connection to a second RAT service while in the coverage hole in association with disconnecting from the first RAT service. The UE may disconnect from the second RAT service, independent of signaling from the second RAT service, after sensing that the UE has exited the coverage hole and before expiration of a radio link failure (RLF) timer for the second RAT service. The UE may reconnect to the first RAT service before expiration of an RLF timer for the first RAT service. Numerous other aspects are described.

The UE may operate in a dual subscriber identity module (SIM) dual active (DSDA) mode based at least in part on establishing the first communication connection and establishing the second communication connection. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may use the techniques described herein to reattempt a video telephony (VT) call after receiving a rejection message indicating that a prior attempt at the VT call failed. In some cases, the UE may have a first configuration indicating that the UE is to redial VT calls exclusively using packet-switched (PS) networks. In other cases, the UE may have a second configuration indicating that the UE is to switch to a circuit-switched (CS) network after one or more failed attempts at the VT call using PS networks. In any case, once the UE receives a rejection message in response to a prior attempt at a VT call, the UE may reattempt the VT call based on a rejection cause in the rejection message and whether the UE has the first configuration or the second configuration.

Abstract: Various embodiments include methods performed by a processor of a computing device for managing Radio Access Technology (RAT) capability during a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN)-only mode. Various embodiments may include determining whether the computing device is in a WLAN-only mode, and removing circuit-switched RATs from the RAT capability of the computing device in response to determining that the computing device is in the WLAN-only mode. This determination may be made during system bootup of the computing device, upon detecting the change in the WLAN settings and/or based on a notification message from a multimedia subsystem indicating that the computing device is in the WLAN-only mode. Some embodiments may further include transmitting a service request with only packet-switched (PS) RATs included in a RAT priority list to a Non-Access Stratum (NAS) layer of the computing device, in which the PS RATs include Long Term Evolution (LTE) and New Radio (NR).
