    Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described for adaptive dwell time for scan procedures. An access terminal (AT) may identify a scan period associated with performing a scan procedure on a first channel. The AT may analyze a channel congestion metric during the scan period and determine based, at least in part, on the channel congestion metric whether to exit the first channel. The AT may provide a probe request for transmission on a second channel during a remaining portion of the scan period based on the determination to exit the first channel.

    Abstract: Functionality can be implemented to improve performance of a direct wireless communication link. In one embodiment, a first network device provides an indication to a second network device that the first network device will enter a power save mode. While operating in the power save mode, the first network device periodically transmits a trigger frame to the second network device to determine whether the second network device comprises buffered frames for the first network device. The first network device receives the buffered frames from the second network device responsive to transmitting the trigger frame. In another embodiment, if both the first and the second network devices operate in the power save mode, the first network device receives a notification of available buffered frames from the second network device. The first network device transmits buffered frames destined for the second network device prior to transmitting a response to the received notification.

    Abstract: Various aspects provide a wireless station (STA) to implement congestion sensitive target wake time (TWT) communications scheduling and enable the STA to determine whether to engage in communications between TWT service periods. A method described includes identifying a congestion metric, determining whether the congestion metric meets a congestion threshold, and transmitting a request to establish TWT communications in response to determining that the congestion metric meets the congestion threshold. Another method described includes terminating a scheduled service period of a TWT communications, receiving an indication that a threshold number of frames is available for transmission to an STA from an access point (AP) or an indication that one or more frames are present in a transmission queue at the STA, and transmitting, by the STA to the AP an indication that a communications link is to remain active between the terminated scheduled service period and a subsequent scheduled service period.
