摘要: Disclosed are techniques for wireless positioning. In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) transmits, to a base station, a first message of a random access procedure, the first message indicating that the UE is a positioning-only UE, receives, from the base station, in response to transmission of the first message, a sounding reference signal (SRS) configuration for the UE, the SRS configuration indicating one or more time and frequency resources on which the UE is expected to transmit SRS for an uplink-only positioning session, and transmits the SRS on the one or more time and frequency resources based on the SRS configuration.

摘要: Embodiments described herein provide for an RIS-aided determination of the location of mobile device that enables the signal reflected by the RIS to be identified through channel estimation. More specifically, an Orthogonal Cover Code (OCC)-based approach may be taken where the RIS is configured to use different weights to reflect different reference signals, enabling a receiving device to identify the reflected signal. This can be utilized on signals used for positioning of the mobile device. Additionally or alternatively, this can be used for positioning of the RIS.

The BS may send, to the RIS, information identifying the one or more reciprocal RIS beam pairs. The BS may perform monostatic sensing using at least one of the one or more reciprocal RIS beam pairs.

A method for wireless communications by a user equipment (UE) includes determining a first timing advance (TA) for transmitting a random access channel (RACH) preamble. The method includes determining a second TA, different than the first TA, for transmitting the RACH preamble. The method includes transmitting the RACH preamble using the second TA. The method includes receiving a random access response (RAR) message including a timing advance command (TAC) and determining whether the RAR is intended for the UE based on the TAC, the first TA, and the second TA. The method includes transmitting a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission based on a determination that the RAR is intended for the UE.
