摘要: Example embodiments relate to techniques for implementing radar waveform diversity. A technique may involve a radar unit transmitting radar signals into an environment of a vehicle based on a code sequence that indicates a ramp direction and a phase shift for each pulse in a pulse used by the radar unit and receiving radar reflections from the environment. In some instances, the radar unit may leverage antennas in a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) arrangement to further add diversity to transmissions according to spatial code in the code sequence. The technique can further involve using a demodulator to map the environment based on the radar reflections and controlling the vehicle based on the mapping. In some instances, the code sequence is received from a system that is wirelessly providing orthogonal code sequences to multiple emitters.

摘要: In accordance with an embodiment, a radar device includes transmit circuitry configured to emit a radar signal including a plurality of frames each comprising a respective sequence of chirps. The transmit circuitry is further configured to wirelessly emit information about the radar signal to a surrounding environment. The information indicates at least one of a positioning of sequential chirps with respect to each other for at least one of the plurality of frames and a positioning of sequential frames with respect to each other in the radar signal.

摘要: A radar system processes signals in a flexible, adaptive manner to determine range, Doppler (velocity) and angle of objects in an environment. The radar system includes transmitters configured to transmit radio signals, receivers configured to receive radar signals, and a control unit. The received radio signals include transmitted radio signals transmitted by the transmitters and reflected from objects in an environment. The control unit adaptively controls the transmitters and the receivers based on a selected operating mode for the radar system. The selected operating mode meets a desired operational objective defined by current environmental conditions. The control unit is configured to control the receivers to produce and process data according to the selected operating mode.

The advanced system and method comprises: a set of antennas including a set of transmit antennas and a set of receive antennas; a digital beamformer; and a processor operably connected to the set of antennas and the digital beamformer, the processor configured to; identify a set of orthogonal multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) signals, generate a first set of beams via the digital beamformer, and map the set of orthogonal MIMO signals into each of the generated set of beams. The advanced system and method further comprises a transceiver operably connected to the processor, the transceiver configured to: transmit, to a target scene via the set of transmit antenna of the set of antennas, a first signal based on the first set of beams; and receive, via the set of receive antennas of the set of antennas, a second signal based on a second set of beams that is reflected or backscattered from the target scene.

摘要: The target detection accuracy of a radar apparatus is improved. The radar apparatus includes transmission circuitry, which, in operation, transmits a transmission signal using a plurality of transmit antennas, and reception circuitry, which, in operation, receives using a plurality of receive antennas a reflected wave signal that is the transmission signal reflected by an object, in which the plurality of transmit antennas include at least one first transmit antenna and a plurality of second transmit antennas, and, in a first direction, an absolute value of a difference between, on one hand, a spacing between the at least one first transmit antenna and a phase center of those of the plurality of second transmit antennas which are used for beam synthesis, and, on another hand, a spacing between adjacent receive antennas of the plurality of receive antennas is a defined value based on a wavelength of the plurality of transmission signals.

摘要: A method for operating a radar sensing system includes configuring a transmitter to transmit a radio signal. A receiver is configured to receive radio signals. The received radio signals include the transmitted radio signal transmitted by the transmitter and reflected from objects in the environment. The method includes with advanced temporal knowledge of the codes used to modulate the transmitted radio signal, using code values of the plurality of codes, and in combination with a bank of digital finite impulse response (FIR) filters, generating complementary signals of any self-interference noise. The method further includes subtracting the complementary signals at one or more points in the receiver prior to the interference desensing the receiver. The radar sensing system further includes a frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) interference canceller for detecting the largest interference signals and sequentially cancelling them while signal processing the received radio signals.
