摘要： A medicament injection device in which the time elapsed is calculated from the end of a predetermined period during which medicament is permitted to disperse subsequent to completion of an injection stroke. The medicament injection device is particularly suitable for use by those with diabetes in which once a desired dosage of medicament has been selected and expelled from the medicament cartridge into the body of the patient, the injected medicament is allowed to disperse locally from the injection site within the patient's body before the needle arrangement is removed from the patient's body.

摘要： Injection devices are known for the self administration of medicament by patients in which the medicaments is typically contained within a cartridge located within the injection device. It is a problem that injection devices should be small enough to fit into a jacket pocket or a hand bag without difficulty. Also, the injection device must be of a size that enables a piston or similar used to drive a cartridge bung within the cartridge to be moved both to a maximum dispense position within the cartridge and to be fully withdrawn from the cartridge to allow for replacement of the cartridge. A drive mechanism for an injection device is disclosed in which a piston (48) is successively moved along the first axis to drive a bung (20) into a medicament cartridge (18), a displacement mechanism comprising a dose setting spindle (30) is disposed along a second axis, the second axis being parallel to the first axis, transmission means connected between the dose setting spindle (30) and the piston (20), and displacement means to displace the dose setting spindle (30) with respect to the medicament cartridge (18), a movement of the displacement means in a first direction causing movement of the dose setting spindle (30) and the piston (20) in the first direction.

摘要： A drive mechanism for an injection device is disclosed in which piston means are selectively driven to expel medicament from within a medicament cartridge. The drive mechanism comprises a drive means associated with a first ratchet member, a second ratchet member associated with the piston means, a housing, the first ratchet member and the second ratchet member being disposed within the housing. The second ratchet member being biased by biasing means toward the first ratchet member. The drive means is actuable reciprocally to drive the first ratchet member in a first angular direction such that the first ratchet member drives the second ratchet member along its longitudinal axis against the biasing means along at least a part of its movement and subsequently drives the first ratchet member and the second ratchet member together in a second angular direction thereby to drive the piston means.

摘要： Injection devices are known for the self administration of medicament by patients. The medicament is typically contained within a cartridge located within the injection device. It is a problem that injection devices should be small enough to fit into a jacket pocket or a hand bag without difficulty. Also, the injection device must be of a size that enables a piston or similar used to drive the Cartridge bung within the cartridge to be moved both to a maximum dispense position within the cartridge and to be fully withdrawn from the cartridge to allow for replacement of the cartridge. A drive mechanism for an injecting device is disclosed in which the drive mechanism comprises a displaceable dosing spindle 6, a dial dose means 8, a transmission means 10, and a cable means 12, a piston comprising a plurality of nested piston members 30, 32, 34, displacement of the transmission means 10 causing the cable means 12 to move at least one of one of the nested piston members to drive a cartridge bung 18.

A medicament cartridge and adaptor top assembly is provided, the medicament cartridge comprising a cylinder having a bottleneck provided with a flange at a first end, a fluid impermeable membrane covering the first end, a cap beaded under the flange to retain the fluid impermeable membrane in place, and a piston displaceably located within a second end of the cylinder, and the adaptor top comprising a sleeve having a body portion and a tapered portion, the tapered portion being provided with a smaller diameter end, the smaller diameter end being located beneath the cap.

摘要： An injection device for injection of a medicament from a first medicament cartridge (40) is disclosed. The injection device comprises a drive mechanism (42) for selectively dispensing the medicament from the first medicament cartridge (40), a dial dose mechanism (12, 14) by which a user may determine a required dose of medicament to be dispensed, an electronic control unit for controlling the operation of the drive mechanism (42) in response to the dial dose mechanism (12, 14) and a display panel (10). When an insufficient amount of medicament remains in the first medicament cartridge (40) to enable the required dosage to be dispensed, the insufficient amount of medicament may be dispensed at the discretion of the user, the electronic control unit storing a value corresponding to a difference between the required dose and the insufficient amount of medicament, the value being presented to the user on the display panel (10) as a first amount of medicament to be dispensed from a replacement medicament cartridge following replacement of the first medicament cartridge (40) with the replacement medicament cartridge.

摘要： An injection device for injection of a dose of a medicament from a medicament cartridge is disclosed. The injection device of the present invention comprises a main housing 4 having an electronic control unit, a cover detection switch 28, and a display panel 10 operative selectively to indicate to the user information relevant to the user. The display panel 10 has an active state in which information is provided to the user and an inactive state in which no information is provided. A cap or cover 6 adapted to cover one end of the main housing 4 of the injection device is provided. When the presence of the cap 6 is detected, the electronic control unit switches the display panel 10 to an active state for a predetermined period of time.

摘要： An injection device of the kind having a main housing (4) is disclosed and includes a drive mechanism (42) to expel selectively a dose of medicament from a medicament cartridge (40) through a needle unit (22) and an electronic control unit to control the drive mechanism (42). The injection device further comprises a prime button (26) which causes a prime signal to be sent to the electronic control unit, the electronic control unit actuating the drive mechanism (42) to expel a predetermined small dose of medicament on receipt of the prime signal. In this way removal of entrapped air from the medicament cartridge (40) is obtained.
