A method for recognizing a fingerprint in a portable terminal includes, if a touch input is sensed via a fingerprint scanning sensor, determining whether a touch input event is detected on an object displayed on a screen, deactivating a function corresponding to the detected touch input event on the object if the touch input event is sensed, and performing a function corresponding to the sensed touch input via the fingerprint scanning sensor. A portable terminal includes a display unit configured to display at least one object on a screen, a fingerprint scanning sensor configured to sense a touch input, and a processor configured to deactivate a function corresponding to the detected touch input event on the at least one object if the touch input is sensed, and to perform a function corresponding to the sensed touch event via the finger scanning sensor.

Disclosed is an electronic device. The electronic device comprises: a display; a communication circuit; a memory; and at least one processor, wherein the at least one processor may: receive, from a first server, a list of at least one external device registered with the first server, display the list through the display; receive a selection input for a first external device included in the list; obtain information for providing real-time content from a second server to the first external device; generate real-time content data; upload the real-time content data to the second server through the communication circuit while generating the real-time content data; and transmit at least a part of the information to the first external device through the first server such that the first external device can obtain the real-time content data. In addition, other various embodiments appreciated from the specification are also possible.

An electronic device for controlling output of audio data, and an operation method thereof are provided. The electronic device includes a display, a communication interface, at least one processor, and a memory electrically connected to the processor, wherein the memory is configured to store instructions, and when executed, the instructions enable the at least one processor to perform setting the electronic device and at least one other electronic device as audio output devices of different applications, based on a user input, detecting a connection to the at least one other electronic device via the communication interface, and controlling the display to display information indicating that the electronic device and the at least one other electronic device are set as the audio output devices of different applications.

A method is provided comprising: generating, by an electronic device, at least one context information log associated with content stored in a memory; grouping the content into a plurality of groups based on the at least one context information log; adding the plurality of groups to a first list, wherein each of the plurality of groups is associated with a respective time-out period; generating a first screen based on the first list, the first screen including a first group from the plurality; detecting an input to the first screen that selects the first group and in response, adding the first group to a second list; wherein the first group is removed from the first list when the respective time-out period of the first group expires, and the first group persists in the second list after the respective time-out period of the first group expires.

Methods and apparatuses are provided for executing a function of an electronic device using fingerprint verification. A security level of the function to be performed is acquired, if the function requires the fingerprint verification. A fingerprint input of a user is received. A count of a number of matching points that exist between the fingerprint input and a prestored fingerprint is determined. The count of the number of matching points is compared with a minimum number of matching points corresponding to the security level of the function.

The method including displaying a first area including at least one item which a user can select and a second area which displays the selected at least one item, sensing a touch event used to move the at least one item from the first area to the second area, identifying a fingerprint of a finger which generates the touch event, and configuring a task by combining the at least one moved item and the identified fingerprint.

An electronic device and a method for controlling the electronic device are provided. Multimedia content is reproduced in the electronic device. After the reproduction of the multimedia content in the electronic device, a display of the electronic device is controlled to display a plurality of objects respectively indicating a plurality of external devices which is identified by the electronic device. In response to input to an object among the plurality of objects, an external device indicated by the object is authorized to continuously reproduce multimedia content.
