Abstract:
A method and system for capturing media data using an Body Area Network, BAN, wherein the BAN comprises a BAN enabled media capturing device associated with a first user and at least one BAN enabled communication device associated with a second user, wherein a BAN link is established through the body of the second user between the capturing device and the communication device, when the second user touches the capturing device, settings, related to capturing media data and related to said second user, are downloaded to the capturing device by using the established BAN link and media data is captured with the capturing device by using the downloaded settings wherein the capturing is triggered by the second user.
Abstract:
A device is equipped with at least one communication module. The communication module supports communication on the basis of body-coupled-communication signals. Further, the device is equipped with a metal frame. The metal frame forms a part of an outer surface of the device. The metal frame is operable to provide conductive coupling of the of body-coupled-communication signals to a body of a user of the device.
Abstract:
A mobile communications terminal with plural antennas for uplink communications with a network base station in a cell, uses an adaptive antenna selection algorithm to select antennas. A method of operating a mobile communications terminal. The cell operator or base station provides parameters and/or settings to the terminal to determine algorithm behavior in selecting antennas, for example, according to operative characteristics of signals in uplink communications in the network, operation of the terminal, and/or network conditions. A communications method includes sending from a base station one or more parameters and/or settings for a terminal to select which of plural antennas of the terminal to use transmitting signals to the base station. A base station transmits to terminals one or more such parameters and/or settings for use in the adaptive antenna selection algorithm to select antennas for transmitting signals to the base station.

Abstract:
A wireless communication device includes a wireless interface for conducting wireless communications with a network access node of a wireless network, the wireless interface having uplink and downlink beam forming capabilities. The wireless communication device further includes a control circuit configured to detect a predetermined condition and, in response to the detection, temporarily operate the wireless interface without beam correspondence between uplink and downlink operations; and transmit a message to the network access node that beam correspondence is not used by the wireless communication device.
Abstract:
A method for performing wireless data communication is disclosed, which uses a first device and a second device, and which comprises the steps of a) transmitting an outgoing radar signal by the first device, b) determining, by the first device, a receive property of an incoming radar signal which is associated with the outgoing radar signal, and c) setting at least one parameter for performing the wireless data communication by the first device based on the receive property of the incoming radar signal.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method, performed in a Body Area Network (BAN) enabled media experience device for enabling transmission of a media experience according to a stored, predefined user configuration associated with an identification data, userID, of a BAN enabled communication device, the method comprising: establishing a connection between the BAN enabled media experience device and the BAN enabled communication device by using BAN; retrieving the identification data, userID, of the BAN enabled communication device; retrieving the stored, predefined user configuration associated with the userID of the BAN enabled communication device; and initiating transmission of the media experience by the BAN enabled media experience device according to the stored, predefined user configuration.
Abstract:
A method, device and system for collecting writing pattern using Body Area Network, BAN, wherein the BAN comprises at least one BAN enabled writing device, e.g. a pen and at least one wearable BAN enabled communication device, e.g. a wristlet, worn by a user, wherein a BAN link is established through the body of the user between the writing device and the communication device, when the user touches the writing device, the writing pattern is created and collected by using the writing device and streamed from the writing device to the wearable device by using the established BAN link.
Abstract:
The present invention concerns devices and methods for control of data transfer in a personal area network. The data transfer being performed by body coupled communication (BCC) and short-range wireless communication between a first portable electronic communication device (10) and a second portable electronic communication device (20, 30). The devices being adapted to be in close proximity to a body of a user and the first portable electronic communication device (10) is configured to initiate and perform execution of predefined actions by means of the method to cooperate with the second portable electronic communication device (20, 30) in a system/personal area network.
