Abstract: A display apparatus includes gate lines extending in a first direction, data lines crossing the first direction and having polarities of data voltages consecutively repeated every four data lines, and pixels which each comprise three sub-pixels. One of the three sub-pixels has a width in the first direction different from a width in the first direction of another sub-pixel of the three sub-pixels. Each of the three sub-pixels is connected to a corresponding gate line and a corresponding data line. The polarities of the data voltages applied to a first data line and a third data line are opposite and the polarities of the data voltages applied to a second data line and a fourth data line are opposite. The pixels arranged between two adjacent data lines among the plurality of data lines are alternately connected to the two adjacent data lines.

Abstract: A display apparatus includes a display panel including a plurality of pixels, and a driver which receives input image data, generates final image data by compensating the input image data to increase luminances of pixels disposed in at least one edge portion of the display panel among the plurality of pixels, and drives the display panel based on the final image data. The input image data for a pixel of the pixels is compensated based on a compensation constant determined according to a position of the pixel when the input image data for the pixel represents a gray level higher than or equal to a first reference gray level, and is compensated based on a reduced compensation constant that is reduced from the determined compensation constant when the input image data for the pixel represents the gray level lower than the first reference gray level.

Abstract: A display device includes a display panel comprising a plurality of pixels, a data driver configured to generate data voltages based on a gamma reference voltage, and to provide the data voltages to the plurality of pixels, a gate driver configured to provide gate signals to the plurality of pixels, and a controller configured to control the data driver and the gate driver. The controller is configured to initialize the gamma reference voltage when a blank period starts in a frame period comprising an active period and the blank period, and to change the gamma reference voltage when a duration of the blank period reaches at least one threshold time.

Abstract: In an image processing method that converts image data into output data by performing tone mapping, an edge of an image represented by the image data is determined, a first tone mapping operation is performed on first image data included in the image data, where the first image data represent a first portion of the image not including the edge, whether a gray level of second image data is within a predetermined gray range is determined, where the second image data represent a second portion of the image including the edge, a second tone mapping operation is performed on the second image data when the gray level of the second image data is within the gray range, and the first tone mapping operation is performed on the second image data when the gray level of the second image data is not within the gray range.

Abstract: A display panel includes a plurality of pixels, data lines, gate lines, a gate driver and terminals. The plurality of pixels form a plurality of rows and columns. The plurality of data lines extend in a first direction parallel to the pixel columns. Each data line is connected to at least two adjacent pixels included in a single pixel row. The plurality of gate lines extend in a second direction parallel with the plurality of pixel rows. The gate lines each connect to at least one pixel included in a single pixel row. At least two gate lines are disposed between two adjacent pixel rows. The gate driver generates signals to drive the plurality of gate lines. The plurality of terminals receives the gate signals to transmit the gate signals to the plurality of gate lines. Some of the terminals connect with some gate lines having a cross-coupled structure.
