Abstract: An afterimage compensator includes: a pixel data generator configured to generate characteristic data for one or more pixels from among a plurality of pixels by using a captured image; a stress accumulator configured to generate an accumulated stress for the one or more pixels in which stress corresponding to the one or more pixels is accumulated based on an image signal of a voltage domain; a domain converter configured to convert the accumulated stress for the one or more pixels from the voltage domain to accumulated stress data for the one or more pixels of a grayscale domain; and a compensator configured to generate compensation data using the characteristic data for the one or more pixels and the accumulated stress data for the one or more pixels.

Abstract: A display apparatus includes a display panel including a plurality of pixels, and a driver which receives input image data, generates final image data by compensating the input image data to increase luminances of pixels disposed in at least one edge portion of the display panel among the plurality of pixels, and drives the display panel based on the final image data. The input image data for a pixel of the pixels is compensated based on a compensation constant determined according to a position of the pixel when the input image data for the pixel represents a gray level higher than or equal to a first reference gray level, and is compensated based on a reduced compensation constant that is reduced from the determined compensation constant when the input image data for the pixel represents the gray level lower than the first reference gray level.

Abstract: A display apparatus includes a display panel, a driving controller and a data driver. The display panel is configured to display an image. The driving controller is configured to generate a compensated image data for compensating a decrease of a luminance of an edge portion of the display panel based on input image data. The driving controller is configured to generate the compensated image data by comparing a maximum value among subpixel grayscale values of the input image data to which a luminance compensating coefficient is applied and a maximum grayscale value of the input image data. The luminance compensating coefficient is configured to be determined according to a location in the display panel.
