    Abstract: A display device includes a driving controller sensing a pattern of first image signals from a source external to the driving controller and outputting a compensation selection signal corresponding to the sensed pattern. A voltage generator generates a driving power voltage in response to the compensation selection signal. The voltage generator includes a power converter generating the driving power voltage in response to a power control signal, a comparator comparing the driving power voltage with a reference voltage to output a feedback signal to a first node, and a compensation circuit including a plurality of compensation units. A selected compensation unit is connected to the first node, and a power control circuit outputs the power control signal in response to the feedback signal. The slew rate of the feedback signal may be controlled by a compensation circuit to remove a ripple component from the driving power voltage.

    Abstract: A display apparatus includes a display panel including a plurality of pixels, and a driver which receives input image data, generates final image data by compensating the input image data to increase luminances of pixels disposed in at least one edge portion of the display panel among the plurality of pixels, and drives the display panel based on the final image data. The input image data for a pixel of the pixels is compensated based on a compensation constant determined according to a position of the pixel when the input image data for the pixel represents a gray level higher than or equal to a first reference gray level, and is compensated based on a reduced compensation constant that is reduced from the determined compensation constant when the input image data for the pixel represents the gray level lower than the first reference gray level.

    Abstract: A gate clock generator of a display device includes a carry clock generator configured to sequentially generate N carry clock signals based on a carry-on clock signal and a carry-off clock signal, a scan clock generator configured to generate N scan clock signals based on a scan-on clock signal and a scan-off clock signal, and a sensing clock generator configured to generate N sensing clock signals based on a sensing-on clock signal and a sensing-off clock signal. In a multi-clock mode of the display device, during an on period of a K-th carry clock signal, the scan clock generator outputs a K-th scan clock signal such that the K-th scan clock signal has a number of pulses that corresponds to a number of pulses of the scan-on clock signal in the on period of the K-th carry clock signal, and the sensing clock generator outputs a K-th sensing clock signal such that the K-th sensing clock signal has a number of pulses that corresponds to a number of pulses of the sensing-on clock signal in the on period of the K-th carry clock signal.

    Abstract: A backlight unit of a display device includes a power converter to generate a light source voltage in response to a power control signal, a light emitting element connected between a first node and a second node, and a light source controller connected to the second node and to output the power control signal in response to a dimming signal. The light emitting element receives the light source power voltage through the first node. When a feedback voltage of the second node is lower than a first reference voltage, the light source controller outputs the power control signal having a first pulse width based on the feedback voltage and the dimming signal. When the feedback voltage is higher than the first reference voltage, the light source controller outputs the power control signal having a second pulse width based on a voltage lower than the feedback voltage and the dimming signal.

    Abstract: A backlight unit of a display apparatus includes a power converter generating a light source power voltage in response to a power control signal, a first node, a second node, a light emitting element connected between the first node and the second node, and a controller connected to the second node. The light emitting element is configured to receive the light source power voltage through the first node, and the controller is configured to output the power control signal for controlling current flowing through the light emitting element in response to a dimming signal. When the dimming signal has a first level, the controller outputs the power control signal to turn off the power converter.

    Abstract: A display apparatus may include a substrate, a display element disposed above the substrate, an encapsulation layer disposed above the display element and including an inorganic encapsulation layer and an organic encapsulation layer, and a touch-sensing layer disposed above the encapsulation layer. The touch-sensing layer may include a first insulating layer including a side surface inclined with respect to a top surface of the encapsulation layer and including an organic material. The touch-sensing layer may include a conductive layer including sensing electrodes, and a second insulating layer covering the conductive layer and including a refractive index that may be different from that of the first insulating layer.
