Abstract: A display device includes a display panel having a plurality of pixels, a controller configured to determine a peak luminance based on a target luminance and a black duty ratio that is a ratio of a black insertion period to a sum of an image display period and the black insertion period, to determine gray-luminance information representing a plurality of luminances respectively corresponding to a plurality of gray levels based on the peak luminance and a target gamma value, and to generate gray-voltage information representing a plurality of voltage levels respectively corresponding to the plurality of gray levels based on a target white color coordinate and the gray-luminance information, a gray voltage generator configured to generate a plurality of gray voltages having the plurality of voltage levels based on the gray-voltage information, and a data driver configured to provide the plurality of gray voltages corresponding to output image data as data voltages to the plurality of pixels in the image display period, and to provide a black data voltage to the plurality of pixels in the black insertion period.

Abstract: Provided are a display device and a driving method thereof. The display device includes: a display panel for displaying an image, based on data signals supplied from data lines; a load controller for determining a scale factor for controlling a target luminance of the image displayed in the display panel, based on a load of first image data input from the outside; and a data driver for outputting data signals to the data lines, corresponding to the first image data corrected using the scale factor. The data driver includes a plurality of data driver chips coupled to at least one data line among the data lines. The load controller determines the scale factor, based on at least one of a total load of the first image data and local loads with respect to the respective data driver chips.

Abstract: A display device includes a display panel including gate lines, data lines, and pixels; a gate driver that provides gate signals to the pixels through the gate lines; a data driver that provides data signals to the pixels through the data lines; and a timing controller that obtains pre-charging gray scale values based on gray scale values of the pixels. The gate driver simultaneously supplies the gate signals to the gate lines in a first period, and sequentially supplies the gate signals to the gate lines in a second period. The data driver supplies data signals corresponding to the pre-charging gray scale values to the data lines in the first period, and supplies data signals corresponding to the gray scale values of the pixels to the data lines in the second period.

Abstract: A compensation method of a display device includes: sensing a first luminance of the display device when a first pattern is displayed on the display device; calculating a luminance prediction value corresponding to a second pattern to be displayed on the display device based on the first luminance, where the second pattern is different from the first pattern; sensing a second luminance of the display device when the second pattern is displayed on the display device; adjusting a current flowing in a first power line of the display device until the second luminance reaches the luminance prediction value; and storing compensation data corresponding to an adjusted current in a lookup table when the second luminance reaches the luminance prediction value.

Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of present disclosure provides a display device including a first horizontal line, a first delay line, a second delay line, a delay value determiner, and a timing controller. The first horizontal line receives a gate pulse signal (CPV) generated by a gate driver. The first delay line is connected to the first horizontal line to transmit a gate pulse signal received at a first horizontal position as a first delay signal. The second delay line is connected to the first horizontal line to transmit a gate pulse signal received at a second horizontal position as a second delay signal. The delay value determiner generates a horizontal delay signal based on the first delay signal and the second delay signal. The timing controller determines generation times of line latch signals applied to a plurality of data lines based on the horizontal delay signal.
