    Abstract: According to various embodiments, an electronic device includes a housing, a display viewable through a front surface of the housing and configured to display a screen, a camera sensor disposed in at least a portion of the front surface of the housing and configured to measure an external illuminance, a processor operationally connected to the display and the camera sensor; and a memory operationally connected to the processor. The memory may store instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to control the electronic device to: detect an turn-on event of the display, turn on the camera sensor to acquire the external illuminance using the camera sensor based on the display being turned on, acquire preview image information for a specified time through the camera sensor, turn off the camera sensor, acquire the external illuminance using an exposure time and a brightness value based on the acquired preview image information, and control a luminance of the display based on the external illuminance.

    Abstract: Various embodiments of the disclosure relate to a proximity-illuminance sensor and an electronic device including the same to increase the accuracy of the illuminance sensor and addressing crosstalk issues. According to an embodiment, an electronic device comprises a transparent member, a scattering member disposed under a portion of the transparent member to scatter light incident at a designated angle from an outside of the electronic device through the transparent member, a light receiving element disposed under the portion and configured to obtain scattered light which is scattered by the scattering member from at least a part of incident light, and a control circuit configured to determine a brightness of the incident light based on, at least, the scattered light obtained through the light receiving element. The electronic device may be implemented in various manners according to embodiments of the disclosure.

    Abstract: An electronic device including an optical sensor is disclosed. An electronic device may include: a first housing; a second housing connected to the first housing to be partially movable in a movement direction; a flexible display that is disposed to be supported by the first housing and the second housing, in which a size of a display area exposed to the outside changes according to a movement of the second housing with respect to the first housing, and in which a light transmitter through which light is transmitted is formed; a printed circuit board (PCB) disposed in an internal space formed by the first housing and the second housing; an optical sensor configured to sense a target located outside the flexible display; and a processor. The optical sensor may include: a light source disposed on the PCB and configured to irradiate light to the outside of the flexible display through the light transmitter; and a light receiver connected to a rear surface of the display area of the flexible display and configured to receive light reflected from the target through the light transmitter. Relative positions of the light source and the light receiver may change according to a change in the size of the display area. In addition, various example embodiments may be possible.
