Abstract:
An apparatus and method are provided for permitting a wireless power receiver to be charged by a wireless power transmitter. The method includes generating a Power Receiving Unit (PRU) control signal including permission information indicating charging permission for the wireless power receiver; and transmitting the PRU control signal to the wireless power receiver.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for determining, by a wireless power transmitter, whether a wireless power receiver is removed from a wireless power network managed by the wireless power transmitter. The method includes transmitting a command signal to report power information of the wireless power receiver at stated periods; determining whether a report signal corresponding to the command signal is received from the wireless power receiver; and determining that the wireless power receiver is removed from the wireless power network, if the report signal is not received after transmitting the command signal a predetermined number of times at the stated periods.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses are provided for controlling power transmission in a power transmitter. A first message including a first voltage and a second voltage that is greater than the first voltage, is received from at least one power receiver. Power is transmitted to the at least one power receiver. A second message including a third voltage measured at the at least one power receiver during power transmission from the power transmitter, is received from the at least one power receiver. An amount of the power is adjusted based on whether the third voltage is between the first voltage and the second voltage. The first voltage is a minimum voltage for the at least one power receiver.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for controlling power in a wireless power transmission/reception system. The method includes receiving power information from a receiver within a charging area; determining whether power is available for the receiver based on the power information; if the power is available for the receiver, transmitting, to the receiver, a first response requesting the receiver to perform charging; and if the power is not available for the receiver, transmitting, to the receiver, a second response requesting the receiver to maintain a standby state
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses for performing wireless charging are disclosed. One of the disclosed apparatuses is a wireless power receiver which can receive charging power from a wireless power transmitter. When the wireless power receiver receives, through a power receiving circuit, from a wireless power transmitter, a first power for initiating a communication unit; establishes a communication connection with the wireless power transmitter while receiving the first power; performs, by the communication unit, communication with the wireless power transmitter; receives, through the power receiving circuit, from the wireless power transmitter, a second power for charging; transmits, by the communication unit, to the wireless power transmitter, a message indicating a mode transition of the communication unit; terminates the communication with the wireless power transmitter; performs the mode transition for a time period while receiving the second power; and resumes the communication with the wireless power transmitter, after performing the mode transition.
Abstract:
A control method of a wireless power transmitter and a wireless power transmitter. The method includes transmitting a first power with a first cycle; transmitting a second power with a second cycle, wherein the second cycle is greater than the first cycle; when a wireless power receiver is placed within a charging area and is detected by the first power, upon detecting the wireless power receiver by the first power, transmitting a third power to drive the wireless power receiver to transmit a search signal to the wireless power transmitter; and when the wireless power receiver is placed within the charging area and is not detected by the first power, using the second power to detect the wireless power receiver and drive the wireless power receiver to transmit the search signal to the wireless power transmitter.
Abstract:
A method of controlling a wireless power receiver. The method includes receiving, by a power receiver, power from a wireless power transmitter; receiving, from the wireless power transmitter, a time set value that is set for checking cross connection; in response to receiving the time set value, generating a power variation in the wireless power receiver by converting a load status from a first load status to a second load status; and maintaining the second load status for a time corresponding to the received time set value.
Abstract:
A wireless power transmission device is provided. The wireless power transmission device includes a resonance signal generator and a controller. The resonance signal generator is configured to transmit wireless power to a wireless power reception device. The controller is configured to adjust the wireless power transmitted to the wireless power reception device, when a predetermined condition caused by over-voltage protection operation at the wireless power reception device is detected.
Abstract:
A control method of a wireless power receiving unit receiving charging power from a wireless power transmitting unit to perform wireless charging is provided. The control method includes receiving the charging power from the wireless power transmitting unit; detecting a change in a wireless charging environment; generating a signal indicating detection of the change in the wireless charging environment; and transmitting the signal indicating the detection of the change in the wireless charging environment to the wireless power transmitting unit.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for transmitting wireless power to a wireless power receiver. The method includes detecting wireless power receiver within a service area of a wireless power transmitter; transmitting driving power for driving the wireless power receiver; joining the wireless power receiver in a wireless power network managed by the wireless power transmitter; and transmitting charging power to the wireless power receiver.
