Abstract: Example embodiments herein provide methods and Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS) devices including a first Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) and a second SIM for managing data communication. The methods include establishing, by the DSDS device, a Radio Resource Control (RRC) connection over the first SIM and performing data communication with a network entity. Further, the methods include detecting, by the DSDS device, an activity upcoming over the second SIM. Further, the methods include transmitting, by the DSDS device, a connection suspend indication to the network entity to suspend the data communication over the first SIM, wherein the connection suspend indication is transmitted on one of a Layer-1 control signaling channel, a Layer-2 control signaling channel, and a Layer-3 control signaling channel.

Abstract: A method for performing evolved multimedia broadcast and multicast service (eMBMS) counting efficiently in wireless systems is provided. The method includes receiving by a radio link control (RLC) layer of a User Equipment (UE), a Multicast Control Channel (MCCH) packet containing an MBMS counting request from a network. The RLC layer then transfers the MCCH packet to a Radio Resource Control (RRC) layer of the UE. The RRC layer processes the MBMS counting request and generating an MBMS counting response by and transmits an indication for successful reception of the MBMS counting request to the RLC layer. The RLC layer verifies if a subsequent MCCH modification boundary indication is received in a selected MCCH modification period and discards one or more subsequent MCCH packets received in a selected MCCH modification period if the MCCH modification boundary indication is not received from a physical layer.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5th-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. In an embodiment, a method for reception of a service in New Radio (NR) at a User Equipment (UE) is disclosed. The method includes receiving, at the UE, a first message comprising a first configuration from a network, wherein the first configuration enables reception of the service at the UE in an access mode amongst a plurality of access modes. The method includes determining, by the network, a requirement to switch the access mode to another access mode amongst the plurality of access modes for continuing the reception of the service at the UE. The method further includes transmitting, by the network, a second message comprising one or more of the first configuration and at least one other configuration to the UE in response to determining the requirement, wherein the one or more of the first configuration and the at least one other configuration enables reception of the service at the UE in the other access mode. The method further includes receiving, by the UE, the second message from the network, wherein the UE accesses the service in the other access mode through the one or more of the first configuration and the at least one other configuration.

Abstract: A lossless Random Access Channel (RACH) procedure is described for a wireless communication network. The method includes determining whether size of an uplink (UL) grant is less than size of a Medium Access Control (MAC) layer protocol data unit (PDU) of a Msg3. In response to determining that the size of the UL grant is less than the size of the MAC PDU of the Msg3 performing one of: rebuilding the MAC PDU of the Msg3 using one or more MAC Sub PDUs (SDUs) based on the UL grant and transmits a rebuilt MAC PDU of the Msg3; initiating new RACH procedure; and updating one or more MAC CE in the Msg3. In response to determining that the size of the UL grant is not less than the size of the MAC PDU of the Msg3, updating the one or more MAC CE in the MAC PDU of the Msg3 based on values of the UL grant and transmits the updated MAC PDU of the Msg3.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes method and system for notifying resource capability of user equipment. In accordance with the embodiments, the method includes determining an event related to one or more multimedia multicast-broadcast service (MBMS) service of interest to the UE in receive only mode (ROM) session when a system information related to MBMS is not broadcasted by a serving cell after transmission of an interest indication for MBMS service to the serving cell wherein the event indicates one of: (a) the UE is not interested in the one or more MBMS service through the ROM session; and (b) the UE is not in reception of the one or more MBMS service through the ROM session; and transmitting a ROM service interest indication for the one or more MBMS service through the ROM session corresponding to the determined event to the serving cell.
