    Abstract: Reducing energy usage by a monitor includes a map manager between a monitor interface and a processor that divides a display area of a monitor into areas and stores display information in a staging area. The map manager distinguishes an active window selected by a user from the remainder inactive, unselected areas of a display, and further determines a used subset of areas within the active window distinguished from the remainder unused areas as a function of a user preference. Accordingly, the map manager drives the monitor at each of the used area active window areas with the processor display information stored in the staging area at a normal luminance specified by the processor display information, and at each of the remainder unused, inactive and unselected areas of the total display area at a reduced luminance lower than the specified normal luminance.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for fault handling are presented. In one embodiment, a fault handling method includes: performing an information collection process, wherein the information collection process includes collecting information regarding guest operating system files of a virtual machine; performing a selective replication region identification process, wherein the selective replication region identification process includes identifying regions associated with a selective amount of the guest operating system files; and performing a replication process based upon result of the replication region identification process. In one embodiment, the selective replication region identification process includes identifying regions associated with files of interest. The selective replication region identification process can include identifying regions associated with temporary files. The information regarding files can include a list of regions used by the files after loopback mounting of a virtual disk file, a list of regions which have been modified on the virtual disk file and regions associated with metadata that has changed.

    Abstract: A mobile beverage dispensing unit includes a replaceable syrup module, a replaceable liquid module, and a replaceable mixing module. The replaceable mixing module creates a beverage by mixing liquid that is dispensed from the replaceable liquid module and syrup that is contained in the replaceable syrup module to create a beverage. The mobile beverage dispensing unit may contain a replaceable dispensing module that dispenses the beverage that is formed in the replaceable mixing module. A plumbing module may connect the replaceable liquid module and the replaceable syrup module to the replaceable mixing module and may also connect the replaceable mixing module to the replaceable dispensing unit. A user may cause the beverage to be dispensed from the replaceable dispensing module by operating a dispensing mechanism that controls the flow of the beverage.
