    摘要: A piezoelectric resonator which achieves a compact oscillator with high performance having high thermal resistance and a narrow tolerance includes an element body having an excitation layer and a non-excitation layer. One vibration electrode is provided on the surface of the excitation layer and another vibration electrode is provided between the excitation layer and the non-excitation layer. The two vibration electrodes extend from opposing ends of the excitation layer toward the approximate central portion thereof so as to oppose each other at the approximate central portion of the excitation layer. On end-surfaces of the element body, end-surface electrodes are connected to the vibration electrodes, respectively.

    摘要: An energy-trapping piezoelectric resonator vibrates in a third-order wave of a thickness-extension vibration mode. The piezoelectric resonator includes a piezoelectric substrate polarized along its thickness. A ratio of the width W to the thickness T of the substrate is determined to be about 0.88.+-.5%, 1.06.+-.4%, 1.32.+-.5%, 1.80.+-.3%, 2.30.+-.3%, 2.69.+-.3%, 3.16.+-.2%, or 3.64.+-.2%. First and second electrodes are respectively disposed on the obverse and reverse surfaces of the substrate to cover the entire width and opposedly face each other at the central portion of the substrate in the longitudinal direction so as to form a resonance portion between the first and second electrodes. It is thus possible to obtain a piezoelectric resonator which does not require a large extra area of the substrate around the resonance portion and which exhibits good resonance characteristics by effectively suppressing unwanted spurious responses in a range between and near the resonant frequency and the anti-resonant frequency.

    摘要: A ladder type filter constructed by laminating serial resonators and parallel resonators, which are respectively constituted by a tuning fork type piezoelectric resonator having a piezoelectric substrate provided with first to third slits extending inward from one edge thereof to form a tuning fork-shaped vibrating portion between the second and third silts, and vibrating electrodes for vibrating the tuning fork-shaped vibrating portion of the piezoelectric substrate. The resonators are laminated with layers having a cavity formed therein interposed in between the resonators. Each layer is constructed so as to ensure that a cavity is provided on both sides of each resonator for allowing the vibration of the tuning fork-shaped vibrating portions. The laminated resonators are integrated to form a ladder type filter which is small in size and can be constructed as an electronic component capable of surface mounting.

When an input signal is applied between the input electrode and the ground electrode, vibration modes of different orders of harmonic waves are excited and coupled so that an output signal is output between the output terminal and the ground terminal. Let T represent the dimension of the width between the opposed first and second side surfaces of the laminated piezoelectric body and D represent the distance between the adjacent excitation electrodes, and T/D is equal to or smaller than about 0.9.
