    Abstract: An ultrasonic transducer device comprises a controller and a differential piezoelectric micromachined ultrasonic transducer with a membrane later, a bottom electrode layer, a piezoelectric layer, and a top electrode layer comprising a first electrode with a positive voltage to displacement coefficient and a second electrode with a negative voltage to displacement coefficient. During a first period, the controller electrically decouples a first output of a first driver from the first electrode, electrically decouples a second output of a second driver from the second electrode, and electrically couples the first and second electrodes to equalize charge between them. During a second period, the controller electrically decouples the first and second electrodes, electrically couples the first output with the first electrode, and electrically couples the second output with the second electrode; where waveforms on the first and second outputs during the second time period are out of phase with one another.

    Abstract: A vibration device includes a piezoelectric element, a vibration member to which the piezoelectric element is bonded, and a wiring member connected with the piezoelectric element. A method for vibrating the vibration device includes inputting a signal including a fundamental frequency component to the piezoelectric element through the wiring member, and vibrating the vibration device in a vibration mode that includes the fundamental frequency component and does not approximately include a high order frequency component that is n times (n represents an integer of 2 or more) the fundamental frequency component. The fundamental frequency component is lower than the resonance frequency component of the vibration device.

    Abstract: A piezoelectric device according to an embodiment comprises a piezoelectric thin film, a first electrode disposed on a first surface of the piezoelectric thin film, a substrate provided with an electrode pad, a plurality of pillar-shaped first supporting members provided between a second surface on an opposite side of the first surface of the piezoelectric thin film and the electrode pad of the substrate so as to fix the piezoelectric thin film onto the substrate, and a plurality of second electrodes electrically connected to the electrode pad from a part of the second surface of the piezoelectric thin film via a lateral surface of the first supporting member. The piezoelectric thin film, the first electrode, and the second electrodes compose a plurality of diaphragms each of which is a transducer element. The first supporting members are provided at locations at which the respective diaphragms are sectioned. The first electrode is provided in common to the diaphragms.
