摘要: A collision detecting system for a vehicle has a pressure detecting member for detecting a pressure in a substantially closed space which is arranged at a periphery portion of the vehicle, and a vibration detecting member for detecting a vibration of the vehicle. The pressure in the space is calculated for a detection of a vehicle collision, based on pressure signals detected by the pressure detecting member and vibration signals detected by the vibration detecting member. Therefore, the influence of the vehicle vibration on the detection of the pressure in the space can be restricted, thus improving the detection of the vehicle collision.

摘要: A collision detecting system for a vehicle has a pressure detecting member for detecting a pressure in a substantially closed space which is arranged at a periphery portion of the vehicle, and a vibration detecting member for detecting a vibration of the vehicle. 摘要: A collision detection system for a vehicle is provided with multiple hollow members which are arranged at a periphery portion of the vehicle and define therein substantially closed spaces, at least one housing defining therein a substantially closed space, multiple transferring members for respectively communicating the spaces in the hollow members with the space in the housing, at least one detection unit which is arranged in the housing to detect a status of air in the housing, and a control unit. The control unit determines whether or not there occurs a collision of the vehicle based on detection signals from the detection unit.

摘要: A passenger-protecting system includes a pressure sensor for detecting a pressure in an inner space of a door and a side airbag installed in the door. The pressure in the inner space increases when a side collision occurs. When the pressure in the inner space of the door exceeds a predetermined threshold level, the side airbag is inflated to protect a passenger from a side collision. There are certain situations where the operation of the side airbag is not necessary even if the pressure in the inner space of the door exceeds the threshold level. Such situations include: when the door is abruptly closed and a front airbag is inflated to protect a passenger from a frontal collision. According to the present invention, unnecessary operations of the side airbag are effectively avoided.

摘要: A seat occupation is judged with a load detector arranged at a seat for detecting a load on the seat and a seat condition detection means arranged at the seat for providing discrimination between an adult and a child seat on the seat. A judging means judges that a child seat is set on the seat when the load detection means detects the load corresponding to that of adult and the seat condition detection means detects that the child seat on the seat. The seat condition detection means may comprise an electrostatistic sensor for detecting a capacitance that is increased by the body of the passenger or a pressure detection element array arranged on the sitting portion. The detected capacitance or the pressure distribution is different between a child seat and an adult or a passenger.
