摘要: A contaminated aqueous composition is withdrawn from a groundwater extraction well and the groundwater is treated in a pump and treat system to remove a contaminant. The treating of the aqueous composition is monitored from a location remote from the groundwater extraction well and the treating is adjusted to remove a contaminant in accordance with the monitoring. A system to treat a contaminated aqueous composition comprises a capture zone to intercept a contaminated aqueous composition and a surface pump and treat system to receive and treat the contaminated aqueous composition from the capture zone. The system also includes a sensor that senses a contaminant in the contaminated aqueous composition and a monitor to receive information concerning the contaminant from the sensor and to consequently control the pump and treat system to treat the contaminated aqueous composition. The monitor is situated at a location remote from the pump and treat system.

摘要: A mileage estimation system comprising a data collection module, a route determination module, a learning module, and a mileage calculation module is provided. The data collection module receives data corresponding to a position and time of a moving asset from a remote location and the route determination module obtains information from a map database for determining a plurality of routes between at least two location of the moving asset. The learning module in the system determines a route travelled by the moving asset from the plurality of routes based on mileage estimation criterion, and the mileage calculation module estimates the distance travelled by the moving asset based on the route travelled by the moving asset.

摘要: A system for determining instances when a vehicle's indicated speed exceeds a governing speed includes a receiver to receive information from which a vehicle's location envelope, indicated direction of travel, and indicated speed can be derived, and a processor. The processer is configured to ascertain a location envelope in which the vehicle is located, an indicated speed of the vehicle, and a direction of travel of the vehicle at a sample time. It is also configured to select the governing speed for the vehicle at the sample time, which includes ascertaining possible road segments with at least a portion within the location envelope, eliminating road segments with a road segment direction of travel inconsistent with the indicated direction of travel, and selecting as the governing speed a speed associated with a remaining road segment. The processor will then determine if the indicated speed exceeds the governing speed.

摘要: The present invention provides a method for treating contaminated media. The method comprises introducing remediating ions consisting essentially of ferrous ions, and being peroxide-free, in the contaminated media; applying a potential difference across the contaminated media to cause the remediating ions to migrate into contact with contaminants in the contaminated media; chemically degrading contaminants in the contaminated media by contact with the remediating ions; monitoring the contaminated media for degradation products of the contaminants; and controlling the step of applying the potential difference across the contaminated media in response to the step of monitoring.
