    摘要: Methods, systems, and software for installing and operating selected software applications on a client computer that is in communication with a server computer on a computer network is described. In one aspect, a method for installing and operating a selected software application on a client computer that is in communication with a server computer across a computer network. In one embodiment, browser software is provided on the client computer that includes a browser user interface and is effective to identify and download selected software applications from the server onto the client computer for execution thereby. A data transfer communication link is established between the client and server computers across the network, a desired software application is selected using the browser, and the desired software application is transmitted across the network from the server to the client. The browser user interface is then transmuted into the user interface of the desired application to allow operation of the downloaded software application using the transmuted browser user interface. Using the methods, systems, and software described herein, software can be distributed to client computers without the installation and other management difficulties common with managing software on multiple computer systems. More importantly, the methods, systems, and apparatus provided by the present invention allow for the distribution of software that is platform-independent; thereby freeing network and system administrators--and users--from the frustrations and difficulties created by the need to manage various platform-dependent versions of software.

    摘要: Retractable swim fins that attach to the legs of a swimmer to aid movement through the water. In one example embodiment, a retractable swim fin includes an upper support frame, a lower support frame, and a sliding assembly connecting the upper support frame to the lower support frame. The upper support frame is configured to be attached to the front of a swimmer's lower leg. The lower support frame includes means for aquatic propulsion and is configured to extend, in a swimming position, to a position beneath the sole of the swimmer's foot. The lower support frame is also configured to retract, in a walking position, to a position above the sole of the swimmer's foot. The walking position enables the swimmer to walk barefoot on a surface without the lower support frame substantially contacting the surface. The sliding assembly is configured to allow the lower support frame to retract.

    摘要: An underwater breathing device, such as a snorkel, may include an exhalation valve. The exhalation valve is configured to produce positive end-expiratory pressure in the airway of a user of the underwater breathing device. The exhalation valve includes a plate defining an exhalation port and at least one chamber port, an exhalation conduit connected to the exhalation port, and a flexible membrane that is sealable against a surface of the plate. A lower portion of the exhalation conduit is divided by a septum which divides the exhalation conduit and the exhalation port into a first exhalation port connected to a first exhalation conduit and a second exhalation port connected to a second exhalation conduit. The flexible membrane is sized and positioned to be capable of sealing the first exhalation port and the second exhalation port.

C. for a time period ranging from about 1 hour to about 24 hours to convert all of said formic acetic anhydride to acetic acid and gaseous carbon monoxide and to fully deplete either said acetic anhydride or said formic acid, whichever is initially present in a stoichiometric lesser amount and thereby produce a mixture comprising acetic acid and either acetic anhydride or formic acid, whichever has been depleted; and(b) separating said acetic acid from the remainder of said mixture produced in step (a) is provided.
