Abstract:
A method is provided for sealing discontinuities in vehicle bodywork, using an at least two-layer adhesive product which comprises at least one thermally activatable adhesive layer and a film layer of a polymeric material, where first the adhesive product is positioned with the adhesive layer onto the discontinuity for sealing, the adhesive layer sealingly wets the discontinuity, optionally after temperature increase, at elevated temperature the thermal activation of the adhesive ensues, characterized in that the adhesive layer used comprises a layer of a thermally activatable adhesive, specifically a layer based on a vulcanizable adhesive, and the thermal activation takes place with vulcanization of the adhesive.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a light-curing, reactive, pressure-sensitive adhesive film of adhesive. With the film of adhesive of the invention, structural bond strengths can be achieved. The film of adhesive comprises (a) at least one reactive monomer or reactive resin, (b) an initiator, (c) a photoredox catalyst, (d) a polymer of monomers comprising N-vinyl compounds and (e) a film-forming polymer.
Abstract:
A hydroxyl-functionalized polybutadiene polyurethane hotmelt prepolymer that comprises the chemical reaction product of at least one polybutadiene diol, at least one chain extender having a hydroxyl functionality of two and a molecular weight of less than or equal to 300 g/mol and optionally at least one polybutadiene polyol that has a number-average mean functionality between greater than 2.0 and less than or equal to 3.0 with at least one aliphatic or alicyclic diisocyanate, is thermally vulcanizable, and at room temperature is sufficiently solid or high-viscosity that it can be rolled into a roll as a film applied to a carrier without flowing out or being squeezed out on the side.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a primer, comprising a mixture dissolved or dispersed in one or more solvents, the mixture composed of a copolymer obtained through copolymerization, preferably free-radical copolymerization, of vinylcaprolactam and/or vinylpyrrolidone, and one or more of the following monomers: a) an acrylic acid ester of a linear primary alcohol containing 2 to 10 carbon atoms in the alkyl group of the alcohol, b) an acrylic acid ester of a branched, non-cyclic alcohol having 4 to 12 carbon atoms in the alkyl group of the alcohol, and c) acrylic acid; one or more organofunctional silanes; a dye or a pigment based on a metal complex or a metal oxide, wherein the metal oxide is of a spinel-type. Such primer provide reliable and excellent adhesion between pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes and hydrophilic surfaces, in particular glass, and ensures at the same time a good coloration of the primer, thereby producing an opaque primer layer.
