Abstract: A cooling apparatus of a vehicle driving system of the invention connects an engine water circulation passage to a hybrid system water circulation passage and flows cooling water in the engine water circulation passage and the hybrid system water circulation passage to cool a first hybrid system component by the cooling water cooled by an engine radiator and cool a second hybrid system component by the cooling water cooled by a hybrid system radiator when an engine cooling process is not requested, a first hybrid system cooling process is requested, a second hybrid system cooling process is requested, and a connection condition is satisfied. The connection condition is satisfied when the engine cooling process is not requested, and the cooling water flowing into the hybrid system water circulation passage from the engine water circulation passage, can cool the first hybrid system component.

The control device is configured, in causing the cam switching device to perform a cam switching operation, to perform energization of the actuator such that the engagement pin is seated on a forward outer peripheral surface, and to more lower, when an electric current (coil current) flowing through the actuator as a result of the energization is greater, an average electric voltage per unit time applied to the actuator in protruding the engagement pin toward the cam groove from the forward outer peripheral surface.

Abstract: At crank angle CA10 at which the switch request of the drive cam was issued, the ejection operations of the pins at all the solenoid actuators started simultaneously. The ejected pins are seated on the cam carriers at crank angle CA12. The pin seated on the cam carrier moves along the grooves in accordance with the rotation of the cam carrier. The earliest finish timing of the switch operation of the drive cam is at crank angle CA13 (#4 cylinder). At the crank angle CA13, drive of the fuel injector and the ignition device in each cylinder is permitted.

Abstract: When a stop request to the engine is issued, it is determined whether or not all of the drive cams are large cams. When it is determined that at least one of the small cams is included in the drive cams, the engine is continued to drive for a while and a switch control for switching the drive cams from the small cams to the large cams is executed within the duration. A self-holding type solenoid is used to switch between the small cams and the large cams. In the switch control, a permission to stop the engine is output at a timing when the “pin protrudable section” of the final cylinder #2 has elapsed.
