    摘要: In an electric connector, a terminal retainer prevents accidental locking of the terminal retainer in a connector housing by requiring two locking steps. The connector housing includes a lid member with a recess which mates with a step of a window which also is provided in the connector housing. The recess mates with the step at two different positions, the first of which is a provisional locking position. At the second position, a locking arm grips the lid member, while the recess mates with the step at the second position. This is a complete locking position.

    摘要: An electrical connector has a protective cover which moves slidably between a first position, which exposes a plurality of metal terminals to corresponding portions of a printed circuit board, and a second position, which covers the terminals. Unless the connector is inserted properly, the protective cover will cover the terminals, preventing contact with the printed circuit board. A detecting piece on a mating connector housing the printed circuit contacts moves the protective cover when the connector is inserted into the mating connector.

As a result of this movement, a rear end of the fitting detection member (60) substantially coincides with a rear end surface of the housing of the female connector (40), so that the connection terminals can be automatically inserted into terminal accommodating chambers (40a) by the automatic terminal inserting machine.

    摘要: In a half-fitting prevention connector (31) of the invention, when a pair of connector housings (40, 50) are fitted together, a half-fitted condition of the connector housings (40, 50) is detected by determining whether or not a fitting detection member (60) on first connector housing (40) can be slid into a proper fitting detection position. The proper fitting detection position of the fitting detection member (60) is set at a position which is nearer relative to a front end of the housing than its initial position is. Therefore, by one operation for fitting the two connector housings together, with the fitting detection member held with the hand, the housing-fitting operation and the detection member-moving operation can be completed at a time. And besides, there is no need to change the positions of the fingers during this operation, and the housing-fitting operation can be effected with a reduced number of operations.

    摘要: A connector fitting construction in which a half-fitted condition is positively prevented when fitting a pair of female and male connectors together, and a connector-inserting force, required for the fitting operation, can be reduced. In this connector fitting construction, one of the two connectors has a slider receiving portion (4), formed by an exclusive-use housing (3b), and has a lock arm (6) on which a lock beak (7), having a slanting surface, is formed. A slider (10) has a pair of abutment projections (14) formed on a lower surface of a slider body (11), and a slide groove (13). The abutment projections (14) can be received respectively in side spaces (4a) provided respectively at opposite sides of the lock arm (6) within the slider receiving portion (4). The lock beak (7) can be fitted in the slide groove (13). Notches (33) for allowing a temporary upward movement of a front end portion (11a) of the slider body (11) are formed in the exclusive housing (3b), and a forwardly downwardly-slanting surface is formed on a front edge (33a) of each notch (33).

    摘要: A corner structure of a resinous molded part includes a base portion and a pair of lever portions which are formed integrally with the base portion. The molded part is provided with cut-outs which are arranged at corners where the base portion intersects the lever portions. A thickness of a portion outside the recess is established to be larger than a thickness of another portion inside the cut-out. With the establishment of the thickness, the amount of the inward inclination of the lever portions derived from the differential shrinkage can be reduced since they are pulled outwardly due to the increased thickness of the outside portion, when the part is cooled.

    摘要: A connector device for connecting and disconnecting female and male connectors by use of a fitting operation lever which allows easy and accurate confirmation of the incomplete fitting of the connectors to thereby prevent such incomplete fitting. The device includes a fitting operation lever (5), which is rotatably disposed in a female connector (A) and has a driving groove (6) in the front end portion thereof, and a driven pin (11) which is provided in a male connector (B) and is engageable with the drive groove (6). The connecting device connects the female and male connectors (A) and (B) with each other and disconnects them from each other upon rotation of the fitting operation lever (5). When the connectors are only partially connected to each other, there is some space for free and easy movement in the operation lever which allows the lever (5) to rotate in the reverse, un-locking direction due to its own weight. Thus, the incomplete connection can be visually detected.
