摘要: An electrorheological fluid is constituted by using a dispersed phase of a carbonaceous powder having an oxygen content above 10% by weight but not more than 20% by weight and having an average particle diameter of 0.01-100 .mu.m, obtained by: heat-polymerizing a condensed polycyclic aromatic compound containing a main component of naphthalene by using HF/BF.sub.3 as a catalyst to obtain a 100% meso-phase pitch having a softening point within a range of 150.degree.-400.degree. C.; heat-treating and making the pitch infusible in an oxidizing atmosphere at a temperature not more than a fusing temperature of the pitch and not less than 50.degree. C. but not more than 400.degree. C. to allow the pitch to have an oxygen content of 12-25% by weight; and then heat-treating and carbonizing the pitch in an inert gas atmosphere at a temperature not less than 300.degree. C. but not more than 700.degree. C. It is thus possible to obtain an electrorheological fluid having low current consumption, a high electrorheological effect and excellent long-term durability, even when the carbonaceous powder having high oxidation resistance and a high oxygen content is used.

摘要: A plurality of air relief holes 18 for removing air in a bag are formed in a slit shape at a portion where, when an opening portion of an envelope 10 is sealed by a seating portion 11a, the air relief holes are concealed by the sealing portion and which is an upper end portion of a second back face 14 of the envelope 10. In case that the envelope 10 is inserted between a pair of upper and lower pressure-contacting rollers from its bottom portion, when the envelope 10 passes through between the pair of upper and lower pressure-contacting rollers rotating in a manner sandwiched therebetween, air staying in a bag of the envelope 10 is exhausted from the air relief holes 18 to the outside, so that the envelope 10 is changed in one sheet shape. Thereby, forces acting on upper and lower faces of the envelope 10 from the pair of upper and lower rollers becomes approximately even, so that occurrence of wrinkles on the envelope 10 is suppressed. Thereby, the envelope 10 is moved straightly up to a printing position, and predetermined printing can be applied to a predetermined portion of the envelope at the predetermined position. Accordingly, predetermined printing can be applied to an envelope without depending on a printing machine or the like and without causing a wrinkle on the envelope and making printing inaccurate.

摘要: A non-aqueous electrolyte electric double-layer capacitor in which there is no danger of being ignited, bursting or catching flame at the time of a short-circuit, has low internal resistance, superior properties at low temperatures, and is self-extinguishable or incombustible. In a first aspect, a non-aqueous electrolyte includes a non-aqueous electrolyte having a phosphazene derivative. In a second aspect, a potential window of the phosphazene derivative is a range having a lower limit of +0.5 or lower and an upper limit of +4.5 or higher, and a potential window of the organic solvent has a wider range than the potential window of the phosphazene derivative. In a third aspect, a conductivity of a quaternary ammonium salt solution (0.5 mol/l) is 2.0 mS/cm. In a fourth aspect, a permittivity thereof at a temperature of 25° C. is 15 or higher and a viscosity thereof is 20 mPa·s (20 cP) or lower.
