摘要: Systems and methods for providing Network Address Translation (NAT) are provided. In some embodiments, a method of operating a function entity configured to support NAT includes enabling a Control Plane (CP) function to instruct a User Plane (UP) function to apply a NAT function for at least one specific service data flow. In this way, one or more benefits result such as: introducing a mechanism allowing CP function to instruct UP function to perform NAT function for one or more service data flow(s); when CP and UP function are separated, using NAT function can protect a private network from potential unlawful incursion, and delaying NAT IP address and port allocation and withdrawal at the service initiation and termination can save the public IP address space. Also, one or more improvements such as allowing the network operator to support NAT policies in the context of 4G/5G networks supporting CUPS are disclosed.

摘要: A method for a target mobility management entity and a target mobility management entity for executing the method in a core network to communicate network function (NF) utilization information with a source mobility management entity during a change of mobility management entity are disclosed. The method comprises: receiving at least one old NF identifier (ID) from the source mobility management entity that corresponds to an old NF entity serving a user equipment (UE); determining to either use the at least one old NF ID or to use at least one new NF ID that corresponds to a new NF entity of a same NF type as the old NF entity; and communicating, to the source mobility management entity, information that indicates to the source mobility management entity whether the target mobility management entity uses the at least one old NF ID or uses the at least one new NF ID.

摘要: Exemplary embodiments include a method, performed by a session management function (V-SMF) of a visited public land mobile network (VPLMN), for establishing a user-requested PDU session to be routed through the user's home PLMN (HPLMN). Such embodiments include receiving, from an access management function (AMF) in the HPLMN, a first request to establish a home-routed PDU session, wherein the first request identifies an SMF (H-SMF) in the HPLMN. Such embodiments also include sending, to the H-SMF, a second request to create the home-routed PDU session. The second request can include an identifier of a resource in the V-SMF associated with the PDU session; and one or more indicators of whether the V-SMF supports respective one or more features related to receiving, from the H-SMF, an identifier of a resource in the H-SMF that is associated with the PDU session. Embodiments also include complementary methods performed by the H-SMF.
