摘要: A loudspeaker drive circuit has a microphone which forms part of an acoustic echo cancellation system. An input signal is processed before application to a loudspeaker driver, and the processing is controlled in dependence on the echo cancellation system performance, such as to control the extent to which the loudspeaker is driven into a non-linear operating region. In this way, the linearity can be controlled so as to provide an excursion limit, without needing a model of the loudspeaker or additional dedicated sensors.

摘要: A method of modeling the frequency-dependent input-voltage-to-excursion transfer function of a loudspeaker, comprises, for a plurality of measurement frequencies, measuring a voltage and current and deriving an impedance at the measurement frequency. A frequency-dependent impedance function is derived.By additionally using the blocked electrical impedance and a force factor for the loudspeaker, a frequency-dependent input-voltage-to-excursion transfer function can be calculated.The invention provides a modeling approach which is not based on a parametric model, but computes the transfer functions for a set of frequencies separately. As a consequence, it does not require prior knowledge regarding the enclosure (e.g. closed or vented box) and can cope with complex designs of the enclosure.

摘要: A loudspeaker drive circuit comprises a signal path compressor/limiter (12) for implementing a change to the peak-mean amplitude ration in the time domain. A feedforward control loop measures an acoustic quality of the signal at the output of a control loop compressor/limiter (20) or the output of the signal path compressor/limiter (12), and also estimates a loudspeaker excursion based on the signal at the output of the control loop compressor/limiter (20). The signal path compressor/limiter is controlled based on the acoustic quality measurement and excursion estimation.The invention provides a method for the maximisation of the acoustic output of a loudspeaker by adjusting the characteristics of a compressor/limiter, with the constraint that the audio quality stays acceptable, and that the diaphragm displacement does not exceed a certain threshold.

摘要: Apparatus for generating a first acoustic signal and simultaneously sensing a second acoustic signal. The apparatus comprises: an input (15) for receiving a first electrical signal from a signal source; a loudspeaker terminal, directly or indirectly connected to the input (15), for connection to a loudspeaker (30) for generating the first acoustic signal in response to the first electrical signal and for generating a second electrical signal in response to the second acoustic signal; and an output (35), for outputting the second electrical signal. The loudspeaker terminal is connected to the output (35) via isolation means (25) comprising a first filter which is adapted to suppress a signal component related to the first electrical signal while simultaneously passing the second electrical signal to the output (35).
