    摘要: The present invention refers to channel estimation in a communications network. According to the present invention, first two reference signals are transmitted by a base station to a set of mobile nodes in said communications network, wherein said base station includes first two antenna ports and wherein each of said first two reference signals refers to one antenna port of said first two antenna ports. Further, at least one second reference signal is transmitted by said base station to a cooperating mobile node, wherein said cooperating mobile node is included in said set of mobile nodes; said cooperating mobile node is assigned to a cooperation area in said communications network, said cooperation area being defined by said base station; and said at least one second reference signal refers to a corresponding further antenna port of further antenna ports included in said base station.

    摘要: The present invention refers to generating of cooperation areas in a communications network, wherein each cooperation area is defined by at least two base stations of said communications network, which are cooperating when communicating with mobile nodes in said communications network. In particular, a number of sets of possible interferers is transmitted to at least one mobile node by a base station, wherein with each set of possible interferers an index value associated to said set of possible interferers is transmitted. Then, said mobile node selects a set of possible interferers from said number of sets of possible interferers and transmits a selected index value to said base station, said selected index value being an index value associated to said selected set of possible interferers. Hereupon, a cooperation area for said mobile node is defined by said base station by use of said selected index value.

    摘要: The invention relates to a method to determine a transmission mode to be used at a MIMO-transmitter. The determination of an optimum transmission mode is done at the side of a MIMO-receiver. The receiver calculates for each stream of a maximum number of received streams an effective SINR-value for a given first linear dispersion code LDC. The SINR value of each stream is used to select, according to a desired BER target, a suitable modulation alphabet for each stream. A sum-rate is calculated over all streams and a first stream with a minimum effective SINR value is separated and is not considered furthermore. A linear dispersion code LDC with a smaller code rate than the first linear dispersion code LDC is selected and SINR-values for the remaining N-I streams are calculated. A new sum-rate is obtained accordingly. In case that the new sum rate of the remaining N-I streams is smaller than the sum rate of N streams, the sum-rate calculation is terminated. In all other cases, the step of separation of a stream with smallest effective SINR, the step of selection of a linear dispersion code LDC with a smaller code rate than the linear dispersion code LDC before and the step of calculation of SINR value for remaining streams are repeated accordingly. The most suitable code rate of the linear dispersion code LDC is selected after the termination and the code rate is reported to the transmitter, together with assigned quantized effective SINR value of each stream, to allow a final decision about a optimum transmission mode at the transmitter.
