    摘要: A two-stage method of compressing a stent entails providing an expandable stent (100,105) in a radially expanded state. An outward pressure is applied to an inner surface of the tubular framework to support the stent, and a diameter of the stent is reduced to a first compressed diameter (D1) while applying the outward pressure. The outward pressure is halted after reaching the first compressed diameter. According to an embodiment in which the stent is balloon-expandable, a delivery balloon catheter (130) comprising an uninflated balloon in a delivery configuration is inserted into the lumen after halting the outward pressure. The diameter of the stent is reduced to a second compressed diameter (D2) smaller than the first compressed diameter to crimp the stent onto the delivery balloon catheter.

A stent component (30) has an expanded state in which an inner diameter (ds) of the stent (30) is less than or equal to an outer diameter (dc2) of a coating (40), thereby causing an inner surface (35) of the stent (30) to engage the outer surface (42) of the coating (40). In one exemplary method of manufacture, the stent (30) is disposed over the coating (40) when the coating (40) is provided with a first, smaller outer diameter (dc1). The coating (40) then is radially expanded to a second, larger outer diameter (dC2), which is greater than or equal to the inner diameter (ds) of the stent (30), to cause the outer surface (42) of the coating (40) to engage the inner surface (35) of the stent (30).

A tapered flexible extension is coupled to the flexible tube, the tapered flexible extension has a taper angle of between about 5 degrees and 15 degrees towards the handle. A bead of adhesive can be supplied at an end of the tapered flexible extension. A thrust block is coupled to the flexible tube, and an endoluminal prosthesis is positioned around the flexible tube between the thrust block and the tapered flexible extension with a space situated between the endoluminal prosthesis and the thrust block.

    摘要: A stent tissue graft prosthesis (20) for repairing, excluding and/or reinforcing a vessel, duct and the like in a patient. The prosthesis includes an inner expandable stent (21) of which a tissue graft (24) and preferably a multilayered tissue construct (33) is disposed thereon for application to the host tissue of a vessel, duct and the like. The tissue construct includes an extracellular matrix material (36) such as small intestine submucosa (37) for remodeling the host tissue into the prosthesis. The prosthesis further includes an outer tubular member (25) such as an outer expandable stent (44) for retaining the tissue graft on the inner stent. The ends of the inner and outer stents are coincident with or extend beyond the ends of the tissue graft to prevent eversion or fold back of the tissue graft during withdrawal of a delivery catheter in a placement procedure.

    摘要: Apparatus and methods are provided for improved deployment of self-expanding stents. One advantage of the improved delivery system is that energy storage within a portion of an outer sheath and/or an inner tube may be reduced during the deployment of the stent. In a first embodiment, the outer sheath and the inner tube may be coupled together using a plurality of engaging threaded members, such that circumferential rotation of the inner tube with respect to the outer sheath retracts the outer sheath to deploy the stent. In an alternative embodiment, a fluid reservoir may be provided between the inner tube and the outer sheath. A proximal sealing ring may be disposed annularly between the inner tube and the outer sheath, such that when the fluid reservoir is filled, the proximal sealing ring is urged proximally to engage and retract the outer sheath. Using these techniques, energy build-up in the outer sheath and/or inner tube may be substantially reduced and improved accuracy in deploying the stent may be achieved.

    摘要: A percutaneous release mechanism (57) for use with an intravascular treatment device (11) in an intravascular treatment system (10). The release mechanism includes an inner member (17) having a connection mechanism (18) positioned about the distal end (14) thereof for interconnection with another connection mechanism (12) positioned on an intravascular treatment device. The release mechanism also includes an outer member tube (13) of which the inner member is positioned therein. The release mechanism also includes a handle (37) having parts (38, 39) connected to the inner member and outer tube, whereby movement of the proximal end of the inner member is translated to the distal end thereof for extending the interconnected connection mechanisms from the passage of the outer member tube and positioning the treatment device in a treatment state. The intravascular treatment system includes the percutaneous release mechanism along with the intravascular treatment device. The treatment device includes an occlusion coil (23) and a rigid tube (36) connected to the flexible outer member tube (35) for maintaining the delivery coil in a delivery state. In another example, the treatment device includes a blood clot filter (40) in which the percutaneous delivery mechanism is adapted for connection thereto.
