摘要: Disclosed herein are implant materials comprising a shape memory polymer having a first shape and a second shape. The shape memory polymer can comprise at least one monomer unit of glycerol and at least one monomer unit of dodecanedioate and a functionalized surface. The shape memory polymer can take the first shape at a first environmental temperature and the second shape at a second environmental temperature, the second environmental temperature being greater than the first environmental temperature. Also disclosed herein are methods of making the same.

摘要: The invention generally relates to shape memory films that are tri-functionally crosslinked and that comprise multiple, non-terminal, phenylethynyl moieties. In addition, the present invention relates methods of fabricating such films. Due to the improved properties of such SMPS, the SMP designer can program in to the SMP mechanical property enhancements that make the SMP suitable, among other things, for advanced sensors, high temperature actuators, responder matrix materials and heat responsive packaging.

Disclosed are embodiments of a device and method to controllably reticulate polymer-based closed cell foams by puncturing the membranes of these polymer-based closed cell foams.

摘要: An ionic nanocomposite comprising a nanomaterial comprising charged groups disposed on at least a portion of a surface of the nanomaterial and a polymer material comprising charged pendant group and/or end functionalized charged groups, where the charged groups of the nanomaterial and the charged pendant groups of the polymer material have opposite charges and the nanomaterial and polymer material are connected by one or more ionic bonds. A nanomaterial can be nanoparticles comprising sulfate groups disposed on at least a portion of the surface of the nanoparticles. The polymer material can be a polymer with pendant imidazolium groups. An ionic nanocomposite can be present as a film (e.g., a thin film). An ionic nanocomposite can be used in devices. A nanocomposite can be used in various coating application.

摘要: A shaped memory alloy (SMA) valve assembly includes a plurality of SMA valves and a main printed circuit board carrying electronic components and conductors for operating the SMA valves. Each SMA valve includes a pressure chamber having a port. Each pressure chamber contains a valve element biased to a rest position in sealing abutment on a valve seat of the port, a SMA actuator, and an actuator printed circuit board for mounting and electrically connecting the SMA actuator. Each actuator printed circuit board portion is connected to the main printed circuit board portion by a bridge printed circuit board portion, and each pressure chamber has an opening to allow a respective bridge printed circuit board portion to extend therethrough. The opening is provided with a pocket filled with cured sealing glue to embed the bridge printed circuit board portion extending therethrough and to seal the opening of the pressure chamber.
