    Abstract: An illustrative system includes a network device, of a wireless network, configured to determine location information associated with a user equipment (UE) connected to the wireless network, encode the location information in a resource assignment signal configured to assign a resource of the wireless network for use by the UE, and transmit the resource assignment signal including the encoded location information to the UE. The UE may be configured to receive the transmitted resource assignment signal including the encoded location information, decode the encoded location information, and use the location information for one or more operations of the UE, such as to determine a geographic location of the UE.

    Abstract: A network device may instantiate a first process in a first Multi-Access Edge Computing (MEC) cluster within a first MEC network; register the first MEC network at a MEC cloud; receive a call from the first process to obtain information from a second process in a second MEC cluster within a second MEC network that is registered at the MEC cloud; create a first message based on the call; send the first message from the first MEC cluster to the second MEC cluster; receive, at the first MEC cluster, a second message from the second MEC cluster, wherein the second message is provided by the second MEC cluster in response to receiving the first message; and extract a return value from the second message, wherein the return value is generated by the second process in response to receipt of the call in the second MEC cluster.

The network device determines whether to establish a first bearer, which pertains to the end device, with the first core network via the first network interface, or a second bearer, which pertains to the end device, with the second core network via the second network interface based on the capability information. The network device establishes the first bearer or the second bearer based on the determination.

    Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium provide to store packet data network (PDN) connection data pertaining to a user equipment connected to a network; store locale-to-packet data network gateway (PGW) data, wherein the locale-to-PGW data includes mappings between locales and PGWs to be used when the user equipment is located in the locales; receive a locale update pertaining to the user equipment; query the locale-to-PGW data in response to the locale update; determine, based on a result of the query, whether the user equipment is to be re-anchored to a different PGW than a PGW to which the user equipment is currently anchored; invoke a re-anchoring procedure, in response to a determination that the user equipment is to be re-anchored to the different PGW; and omit to invoke the re-anchoring procedure, in response to a determination that the user equipment is not to be re-anchored.
