Thermal, flow measuring device and method for operating a thermal, flow measuring device. The thermal, flow measuring device has a first sensor with a first heatable resistance thermometer and at least an additional, second sensor with a second heatable resistance thermometer; wherein a decision coefficient is calculated according to the formula DC=(PC1−PC2)/PC1, with PC1(t=t1)=P1,1(t1)/(T1,heated;actual(t=t1)−Tmedium;actual(t=t1)) and PC2(t=t2)=P2,2(t2)/(T2,heated;actual(t=t2)−Tmedium;actual(t=t2)), with P being the heating powers consumed by the corresponding resistance thermometers at the points in time t, and T being the temperature values; wherein the value of the decision coefficient indicates the flow direction of a measured medium in the measuring tube.

The present invention relates to hydroxyalkyl starch conjugates and a method for preparing the same, the hydroxyalkyl starch conjugate comprising a hydroxyalkyl starch derivative and a cytotoxic agent, the cytotoxic agent comprising at least one primary hydroxyl group, wherein the hydroxyalkyl starch is linked via said primary hydroxyl group to the cytotoxic agent. The conjugates according to the present invention have a structure according to the following formula HAS′(-L-M)n wherein M is a residue of the cytotoxic agent, L is a linking moiety, HAS′ is the residue of the hydroxyalkyl starch derivative, and n is greater than or equal to 1, and wherein the hydroxyalkyl starch derivative has a mean molecular weight (MW) above the renal threshold and a molar substitution (MS) in the range of from 0.6 to 1.5.

Systems and methods are provided that build and publish online documents. Source files of the online documents are automatically built into a book and published on a web site for review. A report regarding the build is provided to the author of the documents. The author can use the report to determine whether the build was successful, and whether manual intervention is necessary. The books are also archived.

A bit error concealment (BEC) system and method is described herein that detects and conceals the presence of click-like artifacts in an audio signal caused by bit errors introduced during transmission of the audio signal within an audio communications system. A particular embodiment of the present invention utilizes a low-complexity design that introduces no added delay and that is particularly well-suited for applications such as Bluetooth® wireless audio devices which have low cost and low power dissipation requirements.

A controller for use in monitoring at least one operating wind turbine is communicatively coupled to the at least one operating wind turbine, to a server sub-system, and to a user interface device. The controller is configured to receive operational data from the at least one operating wind turbine and select at least one formula based on the received operational data, wherein at least one of a predetermined formula is selected, a formula is selected via the user interface device, and a formula is selected via the server sub-system. The controller is further configured to determine at least one site level parameter using the at least one selected formula, and transmit at least one of operational data, the at least one selected formula, and the determined parameter to the server sub-system.

A synthetic reaction to produce [2-(2-aminoethoxy)ethoxy] acetic acid (AEEA) derivatives. This synthetic reaction does not require isolation and purification of intermediates. The AEEA derivatives can be used to synthesize high load polystyrene-polyethylene glycol-like resins having excellent swelling characteristics.
